Nondi's Naturals

pt.2 of 3
the question is:
"do u think black men need to do better⁉️"

the answer is:
"we all need to do better‼️"
_____________________

We have to be able to trust the systems and industries that affect our lives—and when that trust is broken, we all have to ask ourselves: What can we do better?

And,
I include myself in that.

I believe we, as a people, have to do better—not just Black men, not just Black women, but all of us.

My heart especially hurts for our Black men and boys.

My grandson is only 14 years old, and when we're walking down the street, I sometimes notice adults looking at him in ways that make me uncomfortable.

I can't say what's behind every look. Is he being viewed in a sexual way? Is he being perceived as threatening? Is someone making assumptions about him simply because he's a young Black male?

I don't know. 🤷🏾‍♀️

But I do know this: he is 14. He is a child.

For generations, stereotypes have shaped how Black boys and Black men are perceived—sometimes causing Black boys to be treated as older, more threatening, or less deserving of the innocence we ordinarily associate with childhood.

That is something we need to confront.

Our Black boys deserve the opportunity to actually be boys before the world decides what kind of men it thinks they are.

They deserve to grow into Black men feeling safe, valued, respected, supported, and protected.

And,
when we protect and nurture our Black boys and Black men, we strengthen Black women, our families, and our communities.

They are not disposable.
They are worthy of protection.

Lil Durk trial

blissful rising everybody....

Y’all may have seen the movie Judas and the Black Messiah.

If you haven’t, go watch it—because what happened to Fred Hampton wasn’t simply somebody being afraid of a young Black man with a loud voice.

Fred Hampton was 21 years old & he had become an extraordinarily effective organizer. He helped build what became known as the Rainbow Coalition, bringing together the Black Panthers, Puerto Rican Young Lords and poor white Young Patriots around common economic and community issues.

And, this is where the history gets important.

The FBI’s COINTELPRO documents explicitly described a goal of preventing the rise of a Black “messiah” who could “unify and electrify” the movement. That language isn't something Hollywood made up—it appears in the historical government record.

Then you have William O’Neal—the FBI informant inside Hampton’s organization, the character LaKeith Stanfield portrays in Judas and the Black Messiah. Historical records developed through the later litigation showed that O’Neal supplied information from inside the organization, including a detailed floor plan of Hampton’s apartment.

An FBI memo also documented a bonus paid to the informant.🤑

On December 4, 1969, Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were killed during the predawn police raid on that apartment. Even the FBI’s own files identify Hampton and Clark as the deceased victims in the subsequent federal civil-rights investigation.

So when I bring Fred Hampton into this conversation, I'm not saying these are identical situations.

I'm asking people to recognize the historical pattern worth examining:

What happens when the influence of a young Black man becomes more concerning to powerful institutions than whatever alleged misconduct originally put him on their radar⁉️

Because with Fred Hampton, history eventually revealed that the government wasn't merely watching criminal conduct.

There was an organized federal counterintelligence program specifically designed to infiltrate, disrupt and neutralize political organizations and their leadership.
