“How much do hair extensions cost?” 👀

Probably one of the questions I get asked the most, and unfortunately, there isn’t one simple answer.

Your natural hair density, texture, length, desired result, lifestyle, maintenance commitment and the extension method that’s actually right for your hair all play a part in determining your investment.

Two people can both want “22-inch extensions” and need completely different amounts of hair, different methods and different game plans.

That’s why I don’t believe in guessing a price before I know what we’re actually trying to achieve.

Normally I ship her extension hair ahead of me, but this trip was so last-minute that I literally stopped at The Hair Shop on my way to LAX, bought the hair and brought it across the Atlantic in my suitcase.

We installed Genius Wefts, but the real work was disguising that strong, blunt line and creating enough density for the length to actually look believable.

I think we pulled it off. ❤️‍🔥

30+ years of friendship, countless hair appointments, and apparently no signs of her firing me yet.

This reel has been sitting in my drafts since the end of August… so technically these extensions have survived even longer now. 😂

Let’s talk about investing in good-quality hair.

Hair Lingerie says their Preferred Tape-In Extensions typically last around 6–9 months with proper care. Mine? We’re officially pushing past 10 months. 👀

One thing I always recommend when investing in extensions: go longer in the beginning. With regular maintenance and trims, you’re naturally going to lose a little length over time—so starting longer gives you more flexibility and helps you get the most out of your investment.

And clearly I’m committed to this experiment because now I’m tempted to keep mine until the end of the year just to prove a point. 😂

Will they make it? Highly likely! ✔️

Okay… one last look at summer. Although if you live in LA, apparently summer has decided she’s not going anywhere yet. ☀️

But there’s something about September that still feels like a reset. Routines come back, wardrobes start changing, schedules fill up… and suddenly you’re ready for something new too.

A little darker. A little richer. More length. More fullness. Or just getting your hair feeling like you again after summer. 🤎

And here’s your reminder: we’re only about 9 weeks from Thanksgiving and 13 weeks from Christmas. That’s really only a few hair appointments before holiday season is here. 👀
