After 20 years of business in Ackerman Union, Campus Cuts is closing its doors - Daily Bruin Campus Cuts, a barbershop on campus, will close after 20 years of business in Ackerman Union. UCLA’s lease with Campus Cuts expired March 31 and was not renewed, said Michelle Moyer, the director of business affairs and compliance for Associated Students UCLA, in an emailed statement.

For anybody wondering...... We have been forced out of our beloved hair salon. We are devastated and heartbroken!!! Campus Cuts is a family owned business and all of our stylists have been here over 15 years. Our families and our livelihood have been affected. This wasn’t the way we would have chosen to leave. 20 years of service to the BRUIN community and we were thrown out with no regards to the people that work here. I really wish there was something we could do to stay on campus. Thank you to all of our loyal clients!!!!! It really has been a pleasure meeting all you wonderful people. We were affordable we were convenient we were welcoming of everyone that comes into the shop. Ultimately UCLA makes the decision wether to keep us on Campus or not. We don’t believe during this unprecedented time that we should lose everything we’ve worked so hard for. We still are being billed for months the shop was closed due to the pandemic. Our brand new shampoo bowls that we had just replaced were broken. Before anybody can change the world you’ve got to start at home! And that means UCLA you’ve got to take care of ALL those that are in the Bruin community and then extending that outside of UCLA . Vulnerable students workers staff faculty independent businesses we all matter.

It has been a very crazy time for our small business. Even still it is important for us to speak up and voice our support for Black Lives Matter. This injustice has gone on far too long! The police have a job to protect and serve ALL of us. And if they fail to do that for some it is a national emergency and it should be concerning to ALL!

Hope everyone is safe and healthy. Ackerman Union has been closed since last Friday. We will continue to be closed until further notice. We hope to be back stronger than ever after all this is over. We appreciate all of our clients and ucla community. Thankful to be apart of the strong Bruin community!! 💙💛

It’s been a tough week...Thank you to all of our clients for coming in. We appreciate your support of our business. We normally practice cleaning and sanitizing procedures but of course with everything going on we have upped our procedures. Wiping everything down before and after each service. Our hours will be limited at this time 9:30am to 5:30pm
M-F and 12pm to 4pm Sat. We are closed Sundays. Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation in following all the guidelines to keep everyone safe...💙💛
