Let's Simplify Things
I don't want to confuse anyone if you go to my site and things look amiss. I have streamlined my menu so it gives everyone freedom to choose the enhancement they would like in their facials (or get different recommendations from me) and not be limited to my protocols that were skin type/condition specific. This new format gives the both of us more wiggle room to explore and to get different results. Here's what it looks like now:

I always make sure the foundation is strong before adding actives and I noticed a lot of people aren't even doing the basics. I want to make skincare simple again. I really don't do a whole lot of corrective treatments because most of the time, client's barriers aren't even ready for that yet.
My approach is gently cleanse, moisturize to your skin type (oily vs dry) on somewhat damp skin and wear spf every morning, and that almost alone can do such wonders. Then think of adding a tolerable exfoliant or a gentle retinoid. Let's get the foundation right first.
I personally, can't even play with all the different products on the market bc my skin is so reactive, so please don't feel obligated to keep up with all the trends. I don't even chase all the Esthetician treatment trends either. It's OK to keep it simple and you can get beautiful results with even just that.
