I view hair styling and coloring as art because I am an artist at heart. I enjoy viewing pictures of hairstyles that my clients bring in because it helps me create a style that's just right for them. The environment in my salon is warm and comfortable and I welcome suggestions. I am up to date on hair restoration products and my prices are very competitive.

In Kentucky, you can stop by the Hillview Family Diner for a filling plate of old-fashioned comfort food in a setting that feels pulled from another era. Black-and-white checkered floors, vintage pictures, and decades of memorabilia give the dining room a fun 1950s look without losing its easygoing neighborhood feel. Breakfast brings biscuits smothered in gravy, eggs, crisp bacon, and seasoned Southern home fries.

Later, the menu turns to hearty favorites such as chicken-fried chicken covered in pepper gravy, fried catfish, steak cutlet with mashed potatoes and green beans, and a thick pork tenderloin sandwich. Regulars also come for chicken and dumplings, open-face roast beef, and fried chicken livers served with classic sides.

This family-owned spot sits on Old Preston Highway near the Jefferson and Bullitt county line, helping it keep a small-town atmosphere while remaining close to Louisville. Friendly servers are known for quick greetings and attentive check-ins throughout the meal. Save room for the counter, where hand-dipped ice cream becomes thick milkshakes, sundaes, floats, and towering banana splits.

A while back one of my longest clients from Hair Trevilian, brought her husband to me to get a cut. His name is Al. He needed a haircut because his old barber retired.
It's funny how husband and wives are together. We seem to be so opposite and yet so complimentary. I'm not sure what I expected when he first came. Jan seems reserved, calm, conservative behavior. A book reader, Business like🩷 she keeps me in line and on task. She is loyal to the core. She has regularly supported me for 31 yrs and is so very appreciated. She is in her 80's, but if you ever see her, you would never know it. I tell her age because it's shocking! . Definitely looks maybe early 70's. Blows my mind everytime I see her. My mom loved her cause they both came from Evansville. When she brought Al , he was vivacious!! He talked a lot, comparing our Jobs. He sold flooring for yrs in Louisville. We talked about art and colors and how that coincided with his job and customers. When I shampooed him, because of his spine and my chair, he got soaked, all the way down his back. I felt horrible 😞 but he handled it with the most amazing grace that I've seen. I'm pretty sure Jan would've bapped me upside the head😂 but not Al, he just kept saying " don't worry it's just water🩷" it wasn't just a lil tho it was a LOT! Either way, he was extremely kind.
My Tom helps them at their home sometimes and he was here to help him when he needed it, as well. He came several times and he was so friendly and talkative. They kind of reminded me, of me and Tom. Me being the quiet reserved one of course😃. I really looked forward to our next meetings.
Yesterday evening Al passed 💜 peacefully with his family. As good a man as he was, I'm sure it was a gift by the grace of our Lord. The short time I knew him, I could tell he never met a stranger and as Jan told me ' He was everybody's friend' Rest in peace Al, or talk it up😉 whichever you choose🩷🥰 My prayers are with you, Jan and your whole family. May peace be with you always , but especially at this difficult time. Anything you need, let me know. If you have a moment please say a prayer for this family. They are really good and decent people 🙏💜🙏

Have some summer fun, when all this rain gets to be a bit too much, change things up, to give you a lift😄 call me at (502)287-8904. I can get you in easily, because I'm as close as I can get to my salon and absolutely love this job! I'm an artist, so we can figure things out together or you can come with a plan and bring a pic. If you are looking for someone new, give me a try. We can have some fun😃🩷 Cheri Village is still a lot of fun . People are vacationing, so it's a lil easier to get in now.

This past week Hair TMS lost a client. More Importantly, she lost her pain and suffering. Judy Dabney, was such a positive force. No matter what, she managed to smile , be positive and be true to her faith in God. She was a fork lift driver at Ford before she stoped working. Something I thought was really cool. I don't know if I ever told her. Once Nancy was rude to her and she stood right up strong, didn't take any crap off anyone I'm sure. I did her hair for yrs, I can't even tell you how far back. But I sure appreciated her support and also her friendship. She had red hair like a warm wine. She got lung cancer but never smoked. Maybe environmental. . May God rest your soul Judy, fly high girlfriend. I love you. This Christmas you will be part of my spirit tree💜 hugs to you Roger Dabney🫂🙏💜 peace be with you
