How funny to think that something as simple as brows could end up meaning so much.

What started as a service became so much more than shaping brows, it became relationships, conversations, trust, and a space where I’ve had the opportunity to watch so many of you grow through different seasons of life. All while you’ve also watched me grow through mine 🫶🏻
I’ll forever be thankful that I get to do something I love, with people who have made it mean so much.

Things that don’t go together: coffee & your wax appointment! ☕️

I know, asking you to skip your coffee might be worse than the wax itself, but hear me out… 👀

Caffeine is a stimulant and can temporarily constrict blood vessels while also making some people feel more sensitive and on edge. Meaning your wax might feel a little spicier than usual 🌶️ so if you’re already someone who feels like every strip is a personal attack, maybe don’t roll into your appointment three shots deep 🤣

Of course you can still celebrate National Coffee Day, just consider grabbing your favorite drink after your appointment. 🤎

As National Retinoid Week wraps up, let’s chat about how these products affect your wax! ✨

Retinols are truly one of my favorite skin care products and can have amazing benefits, but when it comes to waxing, the two are not besties. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Wax doesn’t just grab the hair. It also has contact with the very top outermost layer of your skin.
When that skin is already compromised from retinol or a stronger retinoid like tretinoin, waxing can cause skin lifting, meaning we can remove more than just the hair. This can result raw or shiny skin, significant irritation, scabbing, pigment changes and, in more serious cases, scarring. 😬

As your waxer, our number one concern will always be your skin’s health and integrity and this is exactly why your waxer needs to know EVERYTHING you’re using on your skin, even if you don’t think it’s important.
Prescriptions like Accutane or tretinoin, OTC retinols such as adapalene/Differin, and other retinoids all matter when we’re deciding whether your skin is safe to wax. 🫶🏻
