The last set of nails I’ll ever make for her… 🤍

For the seven years I lived and worked in New Mexico, she was more than a loyal client. Whenever I traveled, she would come in before I left and wait until I returned for her next appointment. For seven years, she kept choosing me.

A few years ago, when my nail prices became the subject of criticism and people called my work “overpriced,” she was among the first to willingly pay $400–$500 for a set. Once, her total was $260, and she gave me $500.

But what stayed with me was never the size of her tips. It was the respect she showed me and my work. When I doubted myself, her support reminded me that there were people who truly saw and valued the heart I put into every set.

Then I moved to Texas. Life became busy as I worked to build a new chapter, but I never forgot her.

A few days ago, I received a message from her daughter. Her mother had passed away, and one thing she loved to do for herself is her nails. Her daughter know that she only want nails done by me so they were wanting her to have her last nails set done from me.

My first thought was that I would need to return to New Mexico. But with my circumstances right now, I couldn’t make the trip. I apologized, thinking I wouldn’t be able to fulfill her wish.

Then I remembered: I could still make her a Nail Box—a custom press-on set—and send it to her family.

Even after all this time, I still remember her favorite shape, her preferred length, the designs she loved, and even the size of her nails. I can’t promise a perfect fit from memory, but so many little details have stayed with me.

So I sat down to make her nails one more time.

For the last time.

I have never been more grateful for Nail Box than I am now. It gave me a way to send her my love, my gratitude, and a final goodbye when I couldn’t be there in person.

Thank you for trusting me all those years. For valuing my work, and for helping me believe in myself when I needed it most.
