Enjoying the 5th sleeper room at Caribbean Beach. Staying in Trinidad. Not bad. Close to a smaller pool, a reasonable walk to the skylinerer and a shorter walk to a bus stop. Quite a trek to the main pool, lobby, and restaurants.

If you're affected by today's airline tech issues, bookmark FlightRights.gov. We created an easy-to-use dashboard in 2022 to show which airlines cover meals and hotels, and provide free rebooking when an airline causes a major delay or cancellation.

If your flight is cancelled, and you choose not to travel, you do not have to accept a travel voucher. You can request a cash refund.

If an airline is not following their FlightRights.gov commitments, I want to hear from you. File a complaint with DOT: https://secure.dot.gov/air-travel-complaint.

As part of the Kung Fu Panda addition to Universal Studios, I propose they bring back Dining Plans and add a "Po" level dining plan. Limitless snacks.

Comment with your favorite no longer available menu item or closed restaurant at WDW.

We loved "The Wave" at the Contemporary Resort. It closed in July 2021. It was a nice "arrival day" dinner when we stayed at Fort Wilderness. Just a quick boat ride.

They had a bourbon flight with Disney Select K**b Creek enjoyed by my family member who likes that stuff. 🤢. I remember the nut and cheese board appetizer.

🇺🇸 Happy July 4th! To celebrate, we’re giving Sam Eagle from The Muppets the entire 63,206-character limit of this post to compose an ode to the USA. Take it away, Sam! 🇺🇸

Pardon me! Only 63,206 characters? How can you expect me to capture the magnificent spirit of this great land in a MERE 63,206 characters!?

What of my lengthy stanza on the Declaration of Independence? How could I adequately describe the grandeur of purple mountain majesties let alone amber waves of grain? Perhaps you failed to realize that I devoted an entire section to enumerating each and every state bird across the nation? It was alphabetized!

Why…uh…how…well…hrmph… How long is 63,206 characters anyway?

Well, I suppose I’ll just say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

Sincerely,
Sam Eagle

In your opinion, what's the most comfortable ride at Walt Disney World? I really like the monorail. I can sit or stand, cold air conditioning, great for views of the parks and for people watching. What do you think?

Crowds and do they matter?

We are coming up on US Independence Day 🎆🎇🇺🇲, one of the busier days of the year at WDW and Universal according to the crowd calendars. Does that mean you shouldn't go?

Not at all. Here are a few considerations ,🤔💭
1. Travel seasons are busy for a reason. You get additional days off work, doing what you like, by linking holiday and vacation days. Lots of people do the same. It's a good idea, which means lots of us do it. 🧳
2. It feels busier. It is more crowded. So what does that mean? Instead of waiting 15 minutes for a meal, you wait 20 minutes? What if the park is twice as busy and you wait 30 minutes? Does it matter that much to you? Instead of getting your top 5 rides, you get top 4? While it feels counterintuitive, crowd size is one of the least impactful aspects of enjoying your trip. Good transportation plans, meal reservations, scheduled downtime - all contribute more to your enjoyment that an extra few minutes in line. 🚙🚍
3. The parks now do use seasonal pricing. You might pay more by going at a busiest time. They offer deals to level load their attendence. Key reason for using a travel advisor - they can give insight into deals that can help manage expenses.💲

Should you rent a car 🚙

Generally, no. There are excellent car services from the Orlando airport including shuttles such as Mears, Uber, and private services (usually the best option - and a good reason to connect with a travel planning professional).

Why? For most of us, any of the other options will have larger seats, more storage, avoid the need for navigating the insane Orlando traffic, and really be more cost effective. If you rent a car and are staying onsite at WDW or Universal, the car will sit idle for most of your trip. You are paying to occupy a parking space.

If you are staying off-site, use a ride share to get to the parks. Any of the hotel shuttles that I've used eat up so much extra time, that I don't think they are worthwhile.

An exception might be if you have multiple car seats and strollers and staying off-site. (Not a recommended combination).
