Today you leave.

I keep sitting here wondering how 18 years disappeared so fast.

I was 19 years old when they placed you in my arms. My own mother was in prison, I was terrified, and I had no idea what I was doing. But I made you a promise that day—you would be loved, protected, and raised by a mother who put you first.

And you were.

Every hard day was worth it because it gave me you.

Watching you grow into who you are has been one of the greatest honors of my life. You are gentle but strong, thoughtful but fierce, fully yourself in a world that constantly pressures people to become someone else.

Your daddy would be so proud of you. I can hear him cheering for you all the way from heaven. 🙏❤️😇
