A Razored Edge

My life has changed so much within the last 5 years. Owning a business with two babies and a husband is almost impossible. I've been doing it and I found that in doing it, I'm missing so much. The stress and anxiety is overwhelming and I'm losing the love I have for it.

So..... it's time to take a huge step back and focus on what's most important. My gorgeous babies, my wonderful husband, and my fabulous clients.

After 9 years, a lot of blood sweat and tears, the time has come to close the doors of A Razored Edge Salon. From day one it has been a wild ride. If you know, you know. We have so many memories there and it is bittersweet to even post this but it's time for new beginnings for all of us! As of this Saturday the door will close for the last time.

But the show must go on?!!!?......Have no worries, we are all still doing what we love, and most importantly staying together without the headaches of maintaining a whole building.

Starting Monday Christina, Karra and myself will be at our new spot, inside Pulse salon. We took over the space for Alibi Barber Company and we can't wait for all of you to see it.

We have our own private entrance in the back and most importantly we have tons of parking now and the same great atmosphere.

The new address is 2415 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill

If you have appointments with me or any of the girls in the next couple days at the salon, please don't mind the boxes. We will be working there until Saturday as we pack up the last 9 years.

If you already have appointments in the book after Saturday, the only thing that changes is the new location and you will be individually paying your own stylist as we are all our own businesses now.

Why should we pay with cash instead of a credit card? 💵 Here’s one reason…
-Imagine I have a $50 bill in my pocket. I go to a restaurant and pay for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry, the laundry owner then uses the bill to pay his barber and the barber uses the bill for shopping. After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain $50, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank is left dry from every cash payment transaction made...
-But if I go to a restaurant and pay digitally - with a card, the bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50 and the same $1.50 fee charged for each further payment transaction afterwards (owner to laundry shop, barber etc.) Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial $50 will remain only $5 and the remaining $45 became the property of the bank thanks to all the digital transactions and fees.
-When this is put into perspective, imagine what each retailer is paying on a monthly basis in fees at >3% per transaction through their machines. If they have, for example, $50,000 in sales & 90% are by Card, they are paying $1500 in fees in ONE Month. Approx $20k yearly. Card companies are the one to blame not small businesses who offer cash discounts. You want them to stay in business right? You want them to support your community right? Please consider using cash if possible. Your couple cents extra on the bill by using your card will not break you but it could break them.
