More chunky highlights? Yes please😍

Today my guest came in with previous black and green box dye she did herself at home. She tried to remove it a few times by lightening it roots to ends and in the beginning of the video you can see what we started with. She also has a long history of doing a lot of bleach and all kinds of colors at home, so I had to be really careful with what to do so I didn’t compromise her hair even more then what she came in with.

My first approach was to start with the gentlest option, using Malibu DDL to remove the green. It helped, but the green was still there. Before coloring her, I strengthened her hair by spraying in the K18 mist. I added lowlights through the mohawk section and applied the brown everywhere else for a chunky Y2K-inspired look. I then carefully lightened the remaining blonde pieces on the mohawk section with 5vol and bleach. After about 15 minutes, the green was much less noticeable and the blonde looked better. I tried to cancel the green areas the best I could with a pink/red toner and finished by toning the blonde. I wanted to keep it as bright as possible for future lightening appointments incase she wants to be lighter in the future! I’m so happy with how this transformation turned out🖤
