Back-to-school season is officially right around the corner, and we’re gathering school supplies to help support local students and teachers as they head back to the classroom.
If you want to pitch in, you can see a list above of the supplies we are collecting:

How you can help:
📦 Drop it off: Bring any of these supplies right into the shop during your next visit.
🛒 Shop online: We’ve set up an Amazon Back-to-School Wishlist to make it super easy. There is a link in our bio—you can purchase items directly from there and have them shipped straight to the shop!
Every little bit helps get these kids ready for a great year. Thank you so much for always taking care of our community!

All shears. No fears.

People ask me all the time how I stay so busy.

The secret? I have the best-looking guests in Brevard County, and they keep coming back.

Our annual Back-to-School Free Haircut Event is right around the corner, and we’re collecting school supplies to help make sure every student walks away ready for a successful school year.

Donations can be dropped off at Poor Billy’s Barber Shop during regular business hours.

Can’t make it by the shop? No worries! Later this week we’ll be sharing an Amazon Wish List so you can purchase supplies online and have them shipped directly to us. It’s an easy way to help from wherever you are.

Every notebook, every pencil, and every backpack is a reminder to a child that their community believes in them.

Thank you for helping us give students the confidence and tools they need to start the school year strong. ❤️

✂️ Poor Billy’s 5th Annual Back-to-School
Free Haircut Event 🎒

As a community, we’ve always believed that a fresh haircut is about more than looking good—it’s about walking into a new school year with confidence.

We’re honored to once again offer FREE haircuts for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade for families who qualify or are experiencing financial hardship. No child should have to start the school year feeling left out because of circumstances beyond their control.

🎒 Every student who receives a haircut will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies while supplies last.

📅 Saturday, August 1
🕤 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

This event is our way of giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years.

If your family could use a little extra help this school year, we’d love to serve you. If you’re in a position to help, simply sharing this post can make a huge difference by helping us reach the families who need it most.

We had such an amazing time at Career Day at the elementary school today. Getting the opportunity to share what we do, talk creativity, business, and community with so many awesome kids was honestly such a rewarding experience.

Watching them light up with questions, ideas, and excitement about the future was incredibly inspiring. Huge thank you to the teachers and staff for having us, we’re grateful to be part of such a supportive community and hope we encouraged a few future creators, entrepreneurs, artists, and dreamers along the way. 💛

Two great-looking cuts by two average-looking fellas.

It’s been about 21 years since my beard has been this short. Usually I chicken out long before this point.

Honestly, this beard has probably been the longest relationship of my life. And no, I didn’t fully shave it off… baby steps. But this was still a weirdly emotional haircut for me.

The reason I’m posting this is because I think a lot of us get way too attached to our hair or beards. Sometimes you just gotta send it. Summer’s here, get the buzz cut. Chop the beard down. Try something different. Worst case? It grows back.

Trust me, I get it. The first couple days after a big change can feel rough. Some of us are more genetically blessed than others in the beard and hair department. But if you’re rocking the patchy beard or hanging onto those last few hairs because it genuinely makes you feel confident? Slay, king!

But if you’re only keeping it because you’re scared of how you’ll look without it… cut it off. You might end up liking the fresh start more than you expected. Or like me, you’ll rock it for a little bit and go back to your default. Long beard feeling confident and unapproachable.
