We didn’t win the category at HAIR AWARDS but to go from to in THE WORLD is still huge!

✨ R O L L I E L O C S ✨ and I worked our ass off on this project for Blonde Solutions during our time on in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and even though we didn’t get the award, we for sure won in more ways than one! 🫡

I’m proud for how we stretched ourselves, proud of how we worked together and even more proud that we were able to do with 🥰.

It’s truly only up ⬆️ from here 💪🏽

Part 2: So what do you do when “dry hair” isn’t just about adding more moisture?

🗣️You RESET the hair first.

Her treatment plan wasn’t about throwing more product at the problem. It was about removing what was preventing her hair from responding, then addressing what was actually underneath: buildup, dehydration, breakage, compromised strength and an uneven shape.

And even after multiple cleanses, treatments + steam, we STILL had residual buildup, which tells you just how much can accumulate when heavy creams, oils, butters and gels are constantly layered without proper clarifying.

The biggest takeaway? Healthy hair care has to be intentional. Your shampoo, treatments, styling products AND haircut should all have a purpose.

We didn’t fix everything in one appointment, but we did create a much healthier foundation to build from.

Dehydrated hair doesn’t always need MORE product. Sometimes it needs LESS buildup.

She was using heavy creams, oils, butters and flaxseed gels to keep her curls moisturized, but she wasn’t regularly clarifying. Over time, those products continued layering onto the hair instead of being fully removed.

The problem with this is, you can’t properly hydrate hair you didn’t properly cleanse.

During her appointment, I detoxed her hair twice and followed with scalp, treatment and hydration cleansing + steam, and there was STILL visible buildup on her strands when I began styling 😩.

“Natural” or plant-based products aren’t bad at all, but natural doesn’t always mean better for your hair. Formulation matters. Your cleanser has to be strong enough to remove what your styling routine is depositing.

If you love your creams, oils, butters and gels, you don’t necessarily have to give them up, but clarifying has to become part of the routine. Otherwise, you may keep adding products trying to fix “dryness” when the real problem is that your hair needs a clean slate.

The tone you want is only as good as the foundation you create! 😏

Understanding starting level, underlying pigment, and how far you actually need to lift is what allows you to create those clean neutral + cool blondes. 🗣️Toner can refine your result, but it can’t fix a lift that stopped too soon.

This is exactly the kind of color theory 𝓜𝓲𝓰𝓾𝓮𝓵 𝓢𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓪𝓰𝓸 and I will be breaking down at Blondes Without Compromise with Blonde Solutions

Different starting levels. Different textures. Healthy, intentional blonding without compromise.

If you understand what the hair is exposing, you’ll understand how to control the result.
