How often should you be cutting your curly hair?

For most clients, I recommend every 3 to 5 months. If you have a short style or certain shape you want to maintain, you may want to come in more often.

Here are some signs that you may need a cut:
It is tangling and/or getting knotted ends
You see split ends
Your hair is losing its shape or definition

It all comes down to getting the moisture into your hair and locking it in.

When you want your style to last you several days, you need to "set" your curls.

What does this mean? This means that you need to get a gel cast by drying it 100% before softening the cast.

Starting your style with a gel instead of a cream will get your best cast.

You can still use a cream in your routine, but you will get more days out of your style if you start with a gel.

Sometimes I get to do a "big chop"!

Whether you are ready for a big change or you want to maintain as much length as possible, I am here for it.

We will consult prior to me doing any cutting.

I will listen to what you want always. I will make suggestions based on your answers to some questions but at the end of the day, it is your hair and your decision.

The only thing I will not do is anything that will damage your hair. My goal is always the health of your hair.
