Balayage comes from the French word for “sweep.” Your stylist hand-paints a clay lightener onto your hair, placing it where the sun would naturally hit, and lets it process in open air without foils. The result is a soft, sun-kissed gradient.

Great for you if you love warmth and a soft, lived-in grow-out.

Not the best fit if you want a cool tone, want to go significantly lighter in one session, or have permanent color in your hair.


Highlights use foils to hold in heat and help the lightener lift higher. Small, precise sections give you maximum brightness, and we can place them right up to the root or blend them for a softer, balayage-style look.

Great for you if you have permanent color or want to go noticeably lighter.

Not the best fit if your hair is very damaged or you don’t want dimension.


Full color changes your natural shade all over, giving you one solid color from root to ends. It can also mean covering grays at the root and refreshing your ends with a gloss (toner).

Great for you if you want full gray coverage, want to go darker, or want to go just slightly lighter at the root.

Not the best fit if you’d rather blend your grays or keep some of your natural color showing through for dimension.
