“I spent the last 7 years of my life dedicating my time to teaching students how to see themselves through the artistry of making. Like pieces to a pattern getting ready to be sewn and made whole, so are the pieces of my story. This is what led us to creating Winifred Textile Studio.

As a new mom dreaming into my line of textiles, I found comfort in turning a blanket into a garment. All of my jackets and vests are sourced from quilts that either had a previous home, or were bought new. My body felt fragile in my postpartum season, and it made me see the fragility women walk through in carrying life.

Whether that fragility comes from giving care to children, being in a season of hardship, working a 9 to 5 job, studying in school or walking through the pain of trauma - I hope my pieces can offer comfort to each person who wears them.”
