The ends of your hair are the oldest, driest and most fragile part of your hair. Give your ends some TLC by:

- Keeping your ends well moisturized.
- Deep condition regularly.
- Use a satin bonnet, pillowcase or scarf at night to protect your ends.
- Trim your ends when necessary.

When your ends are unhealthy, they will start to split which will cause damage. Be sure you're caring for those ends.

Did you know that trimming your ends regularly is a part of length retention? When your ends are split and you don't cut them, they will continue to split up the hair shaft causing more damage. When your ends are trimmed your hair is in a healthy state which promotes hair growth and retention. If you want to retain your length, be sure to trim your ends when necessary. The goal should always be health over length.

When was the last time you trimmed your ends? Let me know below.

A beautiful twist out starts with a good twist set. You want to make sure that the hair is prepared properly to achieve your desired results. Let’s talk about twisting/setting the hair:

1. Start with clean, detangled, and moisturized hair.
2. Determine what type of twist out you are going for. Do you want tighter curls? A fluffy/big twist out? Knowing what type of twist out you want will let you know what size twist to do. For a tighter curl, do smaller twist. For fluffier curls, do medium to big twist.
3. Twist your hair in the direction that you want your curls to fall. If you want the front of your hair to fall in your face, twist in that direction.
4. Choose a styler. You can use a styling foam, gel, or cream. This step is per your preference. When I want a tighter hold, I will use a gel for my twist. Mostly, I use a cream-based styler because of my desired results.
5. You can twist on wet or dry hair. Pay attention to the directions of your styler. If your styler says "use on wet hair"; follow the directions for best results.
6. Section your hair depending on the desired twist that you want. Fully saturate the hair from roots to ends with the product of your choice. Make sure your hair has no tangles. You want to make sure that your twists are smooth from roots to end.
7. Begin twisting at the root. When twisting at the root pull with a little tension at the base to “lock” the twist in place. This will help the twist to stay secure at the base as well as help with puffiness at the root. You can also place a bobby pin at the base of the twist to hold it in place (one of my favorite hacks).
8. Twist as far as you can. Do not borrow hair. If one of the strands of your hair is longer than the other one, don’t take hair from the longer side. Twist as far as you can, then twirl the ends around your finger.
9. How long you keep the twist in before taking them down is totally up to you. The longer you keep them in the more defined your hair will be.
10. Let your twist dry completely before taking them down. You can sit under a hooded dryer to set your twist. Setting the twist will allow your curls to last longer. If you don’t have a hair dryer you can let them air dry. Be sure they are 100% dry before you take them down.
11. Apply a satin bonnet to your hair or sleep on a satin pillowcase. You can also use a satin scarf to lay your hair down. I prefer a satin scarf after twisting my hair because it keeps my hair smooth and minimizes frizz.

Hope this helps 💜
