Every Active session typically ends with exercise therapy, so there's a good chance you've worked with Mills. ๐ช
As an exercise therapist and personal trainer, Mills helps patients build strength, improve mobility, and get back to doing the things they love. Whether you're recovering from an injury, getting stronger for your sport, or just looking to move better, he's there to challenge you, encourage you, and keep you progressing!
Mills has a background in just about everything from 10k coaching, to mountain bike racing, and music festival attending. Now, when he's not at Active, you'll probably find him lifting something heavy or hanging out with his very opinionated tuxedo cat.
Want to meet Mills and the rest of the Active team? Join us at our Open House on August 15 from 9 AMโ12 PM! We'd love to show you around, answer your questions, and help you see everything Active has to offer.

Ironman Lake Placid.
The best part of the weekend was watching Mary Beth, Libby, and Holland experience Ironman.
Seeing them out on the course.
Watching incredible athletes challenge themselves.
Watching complete strangers cheer for one another like lifelong friends.
I love this sport. But even more, I love the people and the culture around it.
Iโm glad the girls got to see what it looks like when people choose to do hard things and encourage others to do the same.
It also reminds me why Iโm so grateful for what we get to do at Active. Every day, we have the opportunity to help people stay active and continue doing the things they love.
Thatโs about so much more than exercise or sport. Itโs about helping people live a full life.
Already looking forward to the next one.

Ironman Lake Placid. Race eve.
I think this is Ironman number 20-something. Honestly, Iโve lost count.
What I havenโt lost is how grateful I feel.
Grateful that this body still lets me do crazy things.
Grateful for a wife and daughters who have always supported me and embraced this lifestyle.
Grateful for lifelong friends, new friends, and this incredible community that comes together to take on a shared challenge.
One of the things I love most about Ironman is that tomorrow is unwritten. No one knows how the day will go, and thatโs part of what keeps drawing me back. Choosing to challenge yourself like this has a way of teaching you things you simply canโt learn any other way.
My first Ironman since Kona in 2022. I forgot how much I missed this.
Hereโs to another chance to challenge myself alongside a whole bunch of amazing people.
Feeling like a grateful aging warrior tonight.

Happy ! Meet Kathryn! โณ๐ช
Kathryn is only 16 years old, but she's already making a name for herself on the golf course.
Over the past year, she's been working with Deemah to build strength and improve her performance. All that hard work recently paid off when she won the 98th Richmond Women's Amateur City Golf Championship, becoming one of the youngest players ever to win the event. ๐
It's been so much fun watching Kathryn put in the work and seeing it translate on the course. We can't wait to see what's next!

Summer running in Virginia is basically swimming with shoes on.
By the end of most summer runs, my shoes are absolutely soaked.
One of the best inexpensive running purchases I've ever made? A simple boot dryer from Amazon.
โ
Dry shoes by the next run.
โ
Less stink.
โ
Helps your shoes last a little longer.
When you invest in a great pair of shoes from one of our awesome local running specialty shops, it's a simple way to get a little more life out of them.
Not glamorous. Just one of those little purchases that's made summer training a whole lot better.
Anyone else have any great summer running hacks?

You don't wait until your car breaks down to get an oil change. Why wait until you're in pain to take care of your body? ๐
So many people think pulling a muscle while putting on a sock or reaching into a cabinet is just part of getting older. More often than not, it's a sign that your body has been asking for attention for a while.
That's why we encourage tune-up appointments. Regular maintenance can help keep tight muscles, stiff joints, and small aches from turning into bigger problems.
You don't have to wait until you're hurting to come see us. Sometimes the best treatment is staying ahead of the pain.
