Reset your nervous system-heal your skin šŸ¤

Photos from Michele Terese Beauty's post 06/26/2026

Tomorrow is this girls birthday.

It’s a big one that is packed with all the emotions I thought it might bring, and some that I wasn’t expecting.

I was not going to post anything, but this milestone is actually really a big deal to me.

Twenty years ago I was experiencing the most scary health symptoms that totally pulled the rug out from underneath me.
A few ER visits left more questions than answers.

I was going numb on my left side of my face and body, I couldn’t see, couldn’t walk a straight line -ultimately an MRI and spinal tap, bloodwork, put all the pieces together and I ended up in a neurologist office on my (actual) 40th birthday with a diagnosis of MS.
It was a terrifying day for me with a future that felt so unknown. I was painted a picture of a life that would inevitably end in a wheelchair.
I literally thought this could not be happening to me, it was a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from.

After a few years of being really sick, injecting myself with drugs that made me sicker, and MRI’s that kept getting worse. I fired that neurologist, and found one that aligned with me. I worked hard at building a team of drs and health care specialists, and healers that supported me in my quest for holistic health and healing. If you don’t feel supported by your doctor, find a new one. Do your research and find answers, they are out there. Get all the support you can.

I am so grateful for the health I have today.
I have not had any new lesions on my MRI’s in almost 15 years. I listen to my body and try to take care of myself best I can, always a work in progress. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it.

I still feel like the little 10 yr old Shelly in this picture. She was so joyful and curious, so creative, so shy, so strong. I am her.
I’m so damn proud of her.

Without our health we have nothing.
A diagnosis does not define us.
Aging is a privilege that not everyone gets to experience
Grateful ā¤ļø
Cheers to 60

My studio was created with loving intentions to be a sanctuary, a place to rest, reset and heal - your skin and soul. It has never felt more important, more sacred, than it does now. A safe, warm space, a sanctuary to reset your nervous system.

I am feeling deep grief, anger and sadness as I bear witness to the cruelty and injustice happening around me. It’s been so hard to navigate feelings during this uncharted time, it is not normal. Seeing the ways everyone is taking action to protect and care for our neighbors is so beyond inspiring. I’ve never been more proud to be a Minnesotan.

Today I got to reset my nervous system in nature walking on a frozen lake. I am rested and ready for healing facials this week. Sending love to everyone who is suffering, you are not alone.ā¤ļø

šŸ’«27 Years of Healing Skin + One Timeless Tool - High Frequency ā˜„ļø

Can you believe I’ve been a licensed Esthetician for almost 27 years?! That’s nearly three decades of skin love, healing energy, and science-backed beauty✨

In my studio, I’ve collected a treasure chest of tools and modalities over the years, to customize every experience just for YOU — because no two faces are the same, and neither are your needsšŸ¤

šŸ”ŒToday, I’m giving a little love to one of my OG modalities: High Frequency — aka the zit zapper, collagen booster, and glow bringerāš”ļø

This little neon wand may look and sound sci-fi, but here’s what it does:
✨oxygenates the skin
✨kills acne-causing bacteria
✨stimulates circulation & lymph flow
✨speeds healing + reduces inflammation
✨helps clear breakouts fast

Not every tool gets used in every visit — your skin tells me what it needs — but you can bet that this time tested beauty makes an appearance when the time is right.

Let’s just say: it’s old school for a reasonšŸ˜Ž

✨skin care is self care - inside and out✨

Before I touch your skin, I take time to understand YOU — because as a holistic esthetician, I know that true skin health starts from within.

Every first time facial at my studio starts with a thoughtful, heart-centered consultation. We talk about more than just your skincare routine — we explore your lifestyle, stress levels, and overall wellbeing. Why? Because your skin is your body’s largest organ and it’s deeply connected to your mind and emotions. When the mind and body are in sync, the skin responds more beautifully to treatments.

This isn’t just a step before your facial — it’s the foundation for healing, glowing, and long term transformation.✨

Let in the light✨

One of the first things you’ll notice when you step inside my studio—is how light, airy, and spacious it feels. šŸ’«

I have spent many years working in dark, windowless, treatment rooms— I much prefer being in an open space where natural light filters in. šŸ¤

Nature always plays a part in my treatments—whether it’s the sound of rain patting against the windows, or the sight of snow falling outside, or golden hour rays. Nature heals.šŸ•Šļø

Fun fact— I have seven windows in my studio, not including the skylight right inside my door✨

Hello, it’s been a whileā€¦šŸ’«

After a long posting pause, I’m finally showing up—face and all. Truthfully, I’ve been camera shy and navigating some personal things behind the scenes. As a solo business owner without a partner or support team, sometimes things take me a little longer…but I’m still here, passionately devoted, and more aligned than ever.ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

For those new here—I’m Michele, aka Shelly, a licensed Advanced Practice Esthetician with nearly 27 years of experience. I recently turned 59, and I’ve been living and breathing skincare as a professional skin therapist almost half of my life! I’ve been immersed in the healing arts just as long.To say I’m obsessed with skin and wellness is an understatement!

I take a holistic, high-touch approach to skincare—blending science with energetics, technique with intuition. My treatments are so much more than skin. They are deeply healing experiences rooted in both the art and science of skincare, and the beauty and restoration of the healing arts.✨

I am pro-aging, pro-choice, and meet every client where they are. No judgement, just care. While I personally haven’t chosen injectable’s, I honor everyone’s unique path. Beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s a deeply personal journey, and I’m honored to be your guide.

My private sanctuary in the heart of Linden Hills is truly special, and I’m proud to offer a space that feels as restorative as the treatments themselves.šŸ•Šļø

To my clients—thank you for your support, your trust, and your patience. I’m so deeply grateful. For anyone who I have not met yet, I can’t wait to meet you! And I’m really excited for what’s ahead.ā£ļø

✨My beautiful client Liz,
Greta’s mom✨

The story of how we came together is nothing short of a miracle and I’m going to try my best to share this.

Humphrey and I lived across the street from a beautiful park over looking Lake Nokomis. Our favorite bench had the most beautiful view of the lake and we spent many evenings watching the sunset on this bench.

One day I saw that the bench had been dedicated to a baby girl named Greta. This was during the height of the pandemic and my heart was so deeply broken for this family that went through this unimaginable loss during such an unprecedented time. I wondered about them a lot. I would think of Greta and her brief life every time we spent time at her bench. On her 1st Birthday I saw a beautiful gathering under the tree by her bench and would later see that it was her family celebrating her life when I saw the flowers and chalk art left for everyone to enjoy.

A few years later when I moved to Linden Hills and opened my studio, one of my first clients was this beautiful woman named Liz. During her consultation as I was asking questions about her skin I also asked her about herself and if she had any children. She told me that she had three children. Two boys, and a baby girl that had passed away. I told her how sorry I was for her loss and that I would take great care of her during her time with me.

About half way through her facial I was overwhelmed with emotions and tears starting flowing down my cheeks as I su realized that this was Greta’s mom. I was taking care of Greta’s mom. At that moment snow started softly falling outside the windows. It’s impossible to describe the emotions of this moment but it was profound and I was deeply honored to be part of it.

After her facial was done I didn’t know how to say it, so I just said you are Greta’s mom. So many tears. I shared how I knew this and how often I would think of her. She shared Greta’s story and pictures of her beautiful baby girl who was born full term with big chubby cheeks and a head full of dark hair.

Liz was just in for a facial. It’s so much more than that. Greta’s birthday is tomorrow and she would have been five.
Honoring Greta ā¤ļøšŸŒ»
