I guess let me show my face since I haven’t been on this page in forever. I’m still alive. 😊 Social media seemed to become like another full time job, and I burnt out on it. But I appreciate all of my wonderful guests who have kept me busy, and still refer me. I still get new guests and I’m always surprised wondering how they found me. I appreciate you all. 💙

New career, new look. 💙 Shelby is studying for her real estate exam and decided to try a new look. These teasy lights add a lot of brightness but still keep her a brunette. Good luck and thank you for coming in! 😘

Yes I’m late posting this to my FB, and she has been back since then, but I just had to share this here. 💙

“Ryan was my FIRST salon experience and my FIRST color experience. One of my friends recommended Ryan and I am SO GLAD that she did. I have significant hair loss on my scalp and wanted to be pampered to help me cope with the changes. Ryan was so patient and gentle with me. He didn't just make me feel beautiful and pampered, he taught me how to style and care for my new hair! It is now several days after my hair appointment and l feel so beautiful and I LOVE my hair! ❤️ 11/10 recommend Ryan.”

Reviews like this mean SO MUCH to me! Lauren, you’re wonderful and I’m so glad I was able to make you feel special during your first salon visit. 💛

If you love your stylist, please try to leave a review on their Facebook, Google, Yelp, etc. Not only does it help support our business, but it fills our hearts and makes the long days on our feet totally worth it. ✨✨✨

Thanks to Zoe for inspiring me to come out of my social media hiatus with this cut. 😊 I didn’t get a before picture and I only took these to send to her mom, but after I saw the pics I just loved how this cut came out. Before her hair was long and mostly one length, but she totally rocks this layered s**g with bangs. 💙 ✂️ Hmm, maybe I’ll start getting back in the habit of taking pics again. 😉

I know many have been struggling with mental health during this time. I’ve always had struggles with depression but the past 7-8 months have been especially trying. I just read an article about a new national survey, looking at how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted young US adults’ loneliness; it revealed “significant depressive symptoms” in 80% of participants.

I’m very fortunate that the pandemic has not greatly affected my business, but it makes me so sad to see so many businesses permanently closing, so many people out of work. There are some who don’t know if they’ll ever be able to work in their chosen field again. Of course there’s also the anxiety and stress of worrying about another shutdown. You can’t smile at anyone, you don’t know when someone is smiling at you, everyone is isolated - no wonder we’re depressed. ☺️ I honestly can’t believe this is the world we’re living in.

If you are struggling, please know you’re not alone. Talk to people, take deep breaths, check in with your loved ones, and take care of yourself. We’re all in this together and will get through it. And if things feel too overwhelming, there is absolutely nothing wrong with talking to a professional.

Remember it’s just as important to take care of your mental heath as it is your physical health. Stay safe. XO

What is considered a “color correction”? To me, it is lifting previous permanent color out of the hair, balancing out uneven color, changing tone, and changing levels. Depending on the situation, this can be a grueling, hours-long process, can take multiple sessions, and requires a knowledge of hair and hair color chemistry. It also usually takes multiple color formulations to maintain the hair’s integrity.

For instance, if you have naturally dark hair, and you buy a box color that says “Light Ash Blonde” and apply it all over, your result is going to be a lovely shade of orange. And if you then come to me wanting to be a bright blonde, that’s going to be a color correction. That’s what happened with this client.

The first pic is what she came in with, a previous color job with very brassy results. I didn’t know until she arrived that it was a color correction and I only had the time scheduled for a regular foilayage. I told her we could still do the foilayage but she would have to embrace the warmth for now in the process, and she would need more sessions. The first session is the 2nd pic. When you have previous color on the hair, the hair will lift unevenly. The virgin hair lifts higher than the colored hair, so sometimes we have to tone darker to even it out.

The next time she came in, I packed in as many foils as I could, carefully monitoring the foils and changing developers as to not damage the hair. This time, we got a lot closer to the goal. It’s still a warm blonde, but again it’s a process.

We are not magicians. If you’re going to color your own hair orange, you can’t expect us to be able to give you the perfect bright blonde in one session. Color corrections are charged by the hour, and results are still not guaranteed. We can’t always predict what the hair will do with the previous color on the hair.

In summary, color correction is a process and can take multiple sessions. Be open and honest with your colorist about your budget and expectations so they can strategize your service. And before trying to make yourself blonde with box color, remember a color correction could end up costing you a lot more.

🔥 Melted Red🔥

Red hair attracts attention and can noticeably contrast with your attire. Therefore, split ends are noticed. For that reason, a great tip for maintaining beautiful red hair is cutting the ends at least every two months. ✂️

Would this red mane grab your attention? 😱

✨ Beige Beauty ✨

There are so many shades of blonde. Hair color is not one size fits all, and your ideal color should be based on what flatters you most, your skin tone, and of course what your hair is able to do. 😊 All of my blonding services include a glaze formulated just for you, giving you your custom signature shade.

Do you know the perfect shade of blonde for you? 🔆
