Lipblush can be very soft and subtle or more bold depending on client preference.

My client here had one session of lipblushing done by another artist and wanted a flush of color added. She is naturally stunning and doesn’t wear a ton of makeup so I went with a medium coverage saturation level and we will make adjustments as needed once we see the heal.

In my opinion, permanent makeup should be a gradual, buildable process. Each session should build upon the last, allowing us to refine the results over time while prioritizing healed results, skin integrity, and the client’s individual needs. The goal isn’t to do the most in one session, but to create the best possible long-term result.

I see too many women coming to me with permanent makeup they aren’t happy with to over saturate any area.

I know it can feel frustrating to clients for the PMU to fade and have to come back for touchups but this is the way to preserve your PMU long term and the integrity of your skin. Please trust the process. Slow and steady always wins the race.

Also, can we talk about how I am STILL the absolute worst at taking pictures? 😂 Every time I tell myself I’m going to do better, I come home with an almost nonexistent camera roll. So, this is what we’re working with!

Now, back to reality! I’ll be back in the studio on Monday with a fresh perspective, renewed motivation, and new skills to bring to my clients. I can’t wait to put everything I’ve learned into practice! ♥️

Minimal swelling.

I do find that lipblush is the most uncomfortable service I offer. Most people feel more with this procedure than any other service I offer. I try to keep you as comfortable as possible with topical numbing. However there are so many nerve endings and blood vessels here which do cause extra sensitivity.

I like being honest about the pain levels as well as the entire process. I recently started using Hanafy pigments and the color retention has been incredible. No more 40-60% fade. These babies stay. Stay tuned for the heal.

Yes you can see the previous permanent makeup on her right eye after I did mine.

She can easily cover this with concealer.

It will fade in time.

If I went over that wing placement it would have drooped her eye down to an unflattering shape.

I made a judgement call and showed her how to cover the other wing if she wished. I truly believe I made the right decision for her.

She’s young and has a hooded lid. I want to lift the eye as much as possible when tattooing eyeliner. As she ages I don’t want it to go below her bottom eyelid.

Next time she visits her family I will do her touchup and she will be good to go for years.

I hate seeing work that gives PMU a bad name. It makes it harder for artists that truly care about their clients to do their job properly.

Cover ups take more time and aren’t always going to give you the exact look you want but they are always an improvement.

I’m going to say something that some people might not want to hear…

The better shape your skin is in when you come to me for a tattoo… the better it will heal.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

Over the years I am noticing that the clients that have amazing retention are the clients that have great skin too.

And no, age is not a factor.

If you come to me with an impaired barrier and you don’t have a regular skincare routine you stick to, I can tell. And the results show it too.

This doesn’t mean you need a 10 step routine but washing and moisturizing 2x a day is the minimum requirement to have a healthy barrier and have your results look better.

If you’re thinking of getting permanent makeup and you aren’t in a routine yet, before investing in PMU, start taking care of your skin. It’s the largest organ in your body. It protects you. It deserves your attention before I can give you what you’re hoping to achieve.
