What happens in an LED Light Therapy Facial?
It is a 60-minute facial that pairs professional cleansing and hydrating skincare with an LED light therapy session, supporting a fresher, more even-looking complexion. Your esthetician selects the light setting around your skin goals.
The flow: skin assessment and consultation, double cleansing, hydrating serum, the LED session, then moisturizer and SPF.
The benefits list is simple: it supports a fresh, radiant appearance, it is a relaxing, comfortable session, it is selected around your skin goals and it includes hydrating skincare. Many clients enjoy it as a quiet hour. Mild, temporary sensitivity can occur, so follow your esthetician's aftercare guidance. Individual results vary.

How much of visible facial aging is linked to the sun?
Emerging research, in plain language.
In a 2013 study in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology, experts graded visible signs of aging in 298 Caucasian women aged 30 to 78. The authors concluded that UV exposure seems to be responsible for 80% of visible facial aging signs. Pigmentation differences were strongly linked to UV. Signs of sagging were linked more to chronological aging than to sun history. Wrinkles and texture were affected by both.
Why it matters: in this group, sun exposure appeared to matter most for pigmentation and less for sagging, which is a good reason to talk sun protection and your daily routine through with a professional. Skin changes come from time and sun together, not one alone.
The limits: it was an observational study, in Caucasian women only, and the authors work for L'Oreal Research. One study does not settle the question, and these numbers are not a rule for everyone. No Flora treatment was tested, so this is general skin education, shared to help you ask better questions.

Thinking about Microneedling + Serums Infusion? Here are six things to know before your appointment.
1. What it is. A 60-minute new-customer offer at Flora Med Spa: microneedling with a serum infusion.
2. Whether it suits you. Your esthetician reviews your skin, sensitivities and goals at your consultation. Tell them about sensitivities, medications and recent procedures. Treatment suitability is confirmed there.
3. What it feels like. Your esthetician will confirm at your consultation.
4. Downtime and aftercare. Your esthetician will confirm at your consultation.
5. How many sessions. Your esthetician will confirm at your consultation.
6. When results show. Your esthetician will confirm at your consultation. Individual results vary, so we never promise a timeline.
We would rather you hear the specifics from the person looking at your skin than from a generic list, because every skin and every set of goals is different. Your consultation is the place to ask anything, including questions not on this list, and there is no pressure to decide on the day. Consultation recommended.
Which of these six is the question you want answered first? Tell us below. ✦

Many people notice their skin behaving differently from their mid-30s onward.
Common changes:
• Collagen is made more slowly, so skin can look less firm.
• Skin can feel drier and look less radiant.
• Years of sun exposure begin to show as uneven tone or fine lines.
None of this is a failure. It is biology plus time, and every skin is different, which is why your esthetician reviews your skin and goals before any treatment. A steady routine of gentle cleansing, moisturizer and daily SPF, plus professional skincare tailored by your esthetician, may help support healthy-looking skin. Individual results vary.

Not every fine line has the same story.
Some lines appear where your face moves most. Others are linked to years of sun. Many of us have a mix, and time plays a part too.
One observational study of 298 women aged 30 to 78 suggests UV exposure was linked to most visible signs of facial aging in that group, and that wrinkles and texture were affected by both sun and age. It was a single study in one population, so treat it as a clue, not a rule.
What may help: daily broad-spectrum SPF, steady hydration and professional care your esthetician tailors to you. If a mark or change in your skin worries you, see a dermatologist.

What happens to collagen as we age?
Established research, in plain language.
In a 2006 study in the American Journal of Pathology, researchers looked at collagen production in aged skin. They found that reduced production of collagen types I and III is characteristic of skin aged by time. In a lab dish, cells from donors aged 80 and over made less type I procollagen than cells from donors aged 18 to 29: 56 versus 82 ng/ml. Aged skin also showed signs of lower mechanical stimulation of its cells.
Why it matters: it helps explain why skin can look less firm over time. It is a natural process, and it is one reason gentle daily habits and professional skincare are worth having.
The limits: this was laboratory and tissue research, not a treatment trial. It did not test any treatment, so it does not tell us how a facial affects collagen, and we would never claim it does. At Flora Med Spa, our Skin Tightening Anti-Aging Facial + Collagen Booster is LED-enhanced facial care with a collagen booster, and your esthetician explains what it includes at your consultation.

Myth: you only need SPF on sunny days.
Fact: daily SPF is part of most dermatologist routines, whatever the forecast.
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a broad-spectrum sunscreen (it protects against UVA and UVB) with SPF 30 or higher, and water resistance when you are swimming or sweating.
Is SPF a daily habit for you, or still a work in progress? Tell us in the comments.
