From the moment you land on the website WickedHues.com, I walk you through an experience.

Find out about me, about the salon, about the products, read the blog if you need to, check the service menu for what I actually offer, and fill out the First Appointment Consultation Form.

I get that and look at it with my own two eyeballs, and read through what you're looking for and your color history and see your photos and assess how we can best get you to your dream hair.

I'll send you an Intake form to get allergies and emergency info, and also some additional things about your personality (these are often what I go to for Ice breakers), that forwards you to the online booking site.

Once you're booked, you get an Onboarding packet with 5 fun facts about me, more info about how to find the salon, where to park when it rains, what to expect, etc.

The night before I send a quick form to get your drink preferences, music preferences, you can even ask for a mask if that's something that would make you more comfortable...

And once your here, I sit down next to you to get more info about you, your hair, what you've tried that didn't work, what you've tried that did work, and customize your hair appointment, future appointments, and home hair care plan for you.

If you "just want a haircut" and the details don't matter to you, maybe I'm not your place. But if see going to the salon like taking your car to a mechanic, I might be your people.

If you're looking for a regular degular experience where someone copies and pastes a photo onto your head and gives zero f's as to what you're using at home that might instantly wash that out, or destroy your hair over time. I'm not your stylist.

But if you:
- Like the idea of picking the music that will be playing throughout your appointment.

- Want someone who will deep dive into hair care to help you fit your home care routine into your life

- Want someone who will help you figure out why your hair does that weird thing.

- want someone who understands hair biology, physics and chemistry enough to explain your home care to you and why certain products work better than others

- like to read through blogs to research where you're spending your money to ensure the business aligns with your values...

Hi, I might be your people.

Check WickedHues.com for more info. I promise the link is in the bio.

I don't often do weddings, but when I do, I go all out.

These are custom clip in extensions, permed and dyed to match her hair, and then set on rollers with the right product to ensure this shape stayed all day.

Day of, her hair was finger coiled and diffused dry to match.

One of the things I love about what I do is the problem solving nature of what I do.

There aren't a lot of good options for curly extensions? Custom perm them.

There don't come in that shade? Dye them.

They don't come long enough? Clip them into each other.

The client doesn't want to live in them for the next 6 weeks? Need clip ins.

The tousled clip ins don't fit her head, because part of her head is shaved? Customized clip ins.

We did a trial updo at her last appointment a week before this to double check everything and allow for final adjustments.

I was so thrilled that I could or part of such a magical day!

It's my birthday, it's also Dolly Parton Day, so enjoy some old fashion strummin' :)

Fun fact about me, I was raised in a musical household, got my first guitar at 15, and used to be in an anime cover band before becoming a hairstylist.

Another "Will It Blend" kind of cut today. Fixing this haircut done by a different curl specialist in my area.

No shade to that stylist, it looks like they attempted to follow what I did last time, but the layers seemed disconnected, the face frame had a shelf, and the weight in the back left and right sides weren't even.

An easy enough fix, we're back to a solid shape that feels cohesive, and the layers are much better blended.

Glad to have her back.

What to expect at your first appointment. Forms first, so your time in my chair stays about you. Then a full 30 minute diagnostic consultation before I even look at your hair. History, scalp, texture, what's failed before, what you've loved. Then the service, a styling tutorial, the client app, and an emailed recap. Start with the consultation form, link in bio.

12 years behind the chair. 7 years of Wicked Hues. Zero b.s. A one-stylist salon in Mid-City NOLA, quieter by design and slower on purpose, for people who take care of everyone else. Start with the consultation form, link in bio.

Clean, dry hands. That's the whole day two frizz fix.

No oil. No serum. No cream. No brush. If you dried the hair all the way and let it cool completely, the curl is still in there holding its shape. What you're seeing in the morning is surface friction from your pillowcase sitting on top of a perfectly good curl. Smooth the surface off with your hands and it comes right back, because it never actually left.

I promise you it's in there. It bounces back every time.

If the problem is smush instead of frizz, that's different. Take the same curl activator spray you started with on day one, mist it lightly, and either scrunch and let it air dry or rediffuse for a few seconds. The product is already in your hair. You're waking it up, not reapplying it.

Full tutorial is in the video tutorial library in my client-only app.

Looking for a stylist that actually breaks everything down into easy an to understand routine? I'm accepting new clients!
