I am deeply grateful to have attended the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 55th Annual Legislative Conference Weekend in Washington, D.C., culminating in the historic 50th Annual Phoenix Awards Dinner. CBCF

To be surrounded by generations of Black leaders, policymakers, advocates, entrepreneurs, creatives, and visionaries was both humbling and inspiring. I was not simply attending an event, I was witnessing history, honoring the people who helped shape it, and standing in a space built through decades of sacrifice, courage, resilience, and collective progress.

I left with an even greater admiration for those who have committed their lives to public service, justice, education, economic advancement, cultural preservation, and the empowerment of Black communities.

As a young Black woman, a first-generation Cameroonian American, and someone passionate about public health, international education, culture, entrepreneurship, and global impact, this experience was deeply personal. It reminded me that my own journey is connected to a much greater legacy. Every room I enter, every country I travel to, every business I build, and every person I educate gives me an opportunity to honor those who came before me while helping prepare the way for those who will follow.

History is not only something we read about but it is something we inherit, witness, protect, and continue creating. I am thankful to have experienced this moment, and even more inspired to contribute to what comes next.

The legacy continues through all of us. 🖤
