Can you spot me?

Somehow I ended up in the middle holding the cabin sign.

This was my first year as a camper at Camp Skyline in Mentone, Alabama.
I was 8.
It was only one week and yet I was hooked.

I spent another 5 years as a camper and then served on staff at camps in Alabama, Texas, and Australia.

It is heartbreaking to see the news of the devastation at the summer camps and the communities in the Texas Hill Country.

Camp is supposed to be a home away from home, a place for fun and adventure, a place for encouragement and acceptance, a place where friends become family.

Risk management and safety training are essential aspects of camp staff life, as we fully recognize the profound responsibility we hold in safeguarding the physical and mental well-being of everyone who sets foot on our property.

But last week unimaginable tragedy struck and camp leaders around the world are feeling the loss as we are part of such a connected community.

My prayers go out to the families and friends of those who were lost and the communities and camps impacted by the floods.

One thing I’ve experienced first hand is that camp isn’t just a place…it’s a feeling.
And no matter the storm, it is the driving force that brings camp communities together and will help them rebuild.

It was so much fun to reconnect with everyone from our DC trip and to meet other members of the amazing vitiligo community.

Though our skin might look different, we have so much in common, and it’s such a privilege to be able to support each other on our own journeys for better skin health.

ONE of my biggest tips for eczema is to have more than ONE favorite product.

If you find one moisturizer that works for you, don’t stop there.
Find a back up option. Find several!

And not just in the moisturizer category but in all the eczema care product categories.

Here’s why:
👉 brands go out of business
👉 products get discontinued
👉 prices increase
👉 you might need different moisturizers for different parts of your body
👉 products get reformulated
👉 what you use during a flare might not work when you’re not flared
👉 products go out of stock
👉 you could develop new allergens to a product over time
