Is it just me… or are pick & drop braids not supposed to look like this?

First time trying pick and drop with human hair and I’m honestly… not loving it. There’s so much shedding—and I’m talking full pieces of hair falling out 😩

Braiders, sound off in the comments: is this normal or did something go wrong with the hair or install?
