Hair that still looks good the week before your next appointment, not just the day you leave the chair.

“I want a change… but I don’t want to lose all my length.”

I hear this one a lot.

And the good news is, you don’t always need a dramatic chop to make your hair feel completely different.

Sometimes it’s about taking away what’s no longer serving the shape, creating movement in the right places, and giving all that length a little more intention.

The result? You still have the longer hair you love, but now it actually has a shape.

And for my busy New Yorkers, that matters. I want your haircut to work when you’re heading into a meeting, going out after work, or simply styling it yourself on a regular Tuesday morning.

Tell me in the comments!

When you picture your perfect blonde, what’s the first word that comes to mind? Bright? Soft? Dimensional? Natural?

I hear versions of all of these in my chair because “blonde” can mean so many different things.

You might want more brightness around your face but still love seeing some of your natural depth. You might want something softer and more dimensional, or you may be ready to go noticeably brighter.

Blonde has been a big part of my work for more than 20 years, and one thing that experience has taught me is that the consultation matters just as much as the technique.

Before we start, I want to understand what blonde means to you. We’ll talk about what you love in your inspiration photos, what you don’t want to see in your hair, what you’ve had done before, and how often you realistically want to come back.

Then I can create a blonde that feels right for your hair—not simply a shade that looked good on someone else.

If you’ve been looking for a blonde colorist in NYC and want to feel confident about the direction before we begin, book a consultation through the link in bio.

Let’s talk about your hair. And if you’re still getting to know Color & Andy, take a look at the reviews and hear from the people who’ve already trusted me with theirs.

Have you ever looked at your hair lately and thought…

“Wait. Has my hair always been like this?”

Maybe you can’t even put your finger on what’s different. It just doesn’t feel quite the same as it used to.

I hear versions of this in my chair more often than you might think.

And after working with some of you for years, I notice those changes too. Your hair at 35 may not behave exactly the way it did at 25. And what worked beautifully for you a few years ago may not necessarily be what your hair needs now.

That’s actually one of the things I love about having a long-term relationship with your hair. We get to pay attention to it together and adjust as things change.

There’s one part of that conversation I think we tend to overlook, so swipe through because I want to talk about it.

Have you noticed your hair changing over the last few years, or does it still feel pretty much the same?

And if you’ve been thinking your hair feels different lately, bring it up at your next Color & Andy appointment. Let's talk about it! I’d love to hear what you’ve been noticing.

How blonde do you actually want to feel?

For some clients, a little brightness is enough. For others, they’ve been saving those lighter, brighter blondes and thinking, “Yes. More of this, please!”

And I love that conversation.

With Effortless Blonde at Color & Andy, I’m looking at your natural color, where we can create the most impactful brightness, and how to keep the finished blonde feeling beautifully blended.

If you’ve been thinking about going brighter but aren’t sure how far you want to take it, that’s something we can figure out together during your consultation.

But before you book that appointment, I need to know: on a scale of 1–10, how blonde are you willing to go this season?

Wie gefällt euch das Ergebnis?

From the before to the final reveal, this transformation was all about creating color that feels fresh, dimensional, and right for Brenda!

But don’t skip the ending, her reaction says everything.

And if you’re in New York and looking for a hairstylist who will take the time to understand what you want, I’d love to meet you.

Thinking about going shorter, but not quite ready for a dramatic chop?

You don’t have to go from long hair to really short hair to make a change feel significant.

Sometimes removing the right amount of length and creating a shape that works with your hair is enough to make everything feel lighter, fresher, and more like you.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a haircut in the back of your mind lately, I want to see you in the comments!

Sometimes the best thing I can tell you is, “I wouldn’t do that to your hair.”

And I mean that in the best possible way.

When you sit in my chair, my job isn’t to say yes to every idea just because you showed me a beautiful inspiration photo. I want to look at your hair, understand its history, hear what you’re hoping for, and then talk honestly about what's best for your hair.

Maybe we can absolutely create the look you saved. Maybe I’d change the approach a little. Or maybe there’s another direction that will give you the feeling you want while working better with your hair.

After more than 20 years behind the chair, I’ve learned that sometimes being a good colorist means knowing when to say, “Here’s what I would recommend instead.”

I want you to understand the plan before we start and feel confident about where we’re going together.

So bring me the ideas. Ask me the questions. And if something isn’t right for your hair, I’ll tell you... and I’ll help you find an option that is.

If that’s the kind of relationship you’ve been looking for with your colorist, I'd love to meet you!

“Where Andrea goes, my hair and me go!”

Eight years together, and I think S**i summed up our relationship perfectly.

One of my favorite parts of doing this work is getting to know someone’s hair beyond a single appointment.

After years together, I know your history. I know what we’ve tried, what you loved, what you never want to do again, and the little things about your hair that we’ve figured out along the way.

Thank you, S**i, for more than eight years of trust, friendship, and letting me take care of your hair. “Where Andrea goes, my hair and me go” might be one of my favorite reviews yet.

If you’re looking for a hairstylist or colorist in NYC and hoping to find someone you can build that kind of relationship with, I’d love to welcome you to Color & Andy.

Book your appointment through the link in bio.

And if you’ve been in my chair for the first time, or maybe a few months (or many many years) I’d love to hear your story too. Your honest review might be exactly what helps someone new feel comfortable booking that first appointment.

Full Dimension at Color & Andy

is for anyone who loves blonde but still wants depth, contrast, and movement throughout their hair.

Using balayage, we can create brightness that blends beautifully with your natural color instead of making everything one shade. The result is dimensional blonde with a softer transition as your hair grows, so you’re not dealing with a harsh line of regrowth a few weeks later.

That’s what I love about a more lived-in approach to blonde. You still get the brightness you want, but your color is designed to grow out naturally and give you more flexibility between appointments.

If this is the kind of low-maintenance balayage you’ve been saving, book Full Dimension at Color & Andy through the link in bio.
