Marble & Milkweed

deep summer in the native plant beds. the swamp milkweed (asclepias incarnata) at its best. rudbeckia triloba has just started to bloom and will continue on until the autumn, alongside the heliopsis helianthoides. the echinacea begins to fade, while the phlox paniculata and early goldenrod (solidago juncea) open beautifully. a bit of campsis radicans, the trumpet vine that will eat your house, if you let it. and the tiny treasures of the nodding onion (allium cernuum) and wild petunia (ruellia humilis). a true feast for the senses. and for our native pollinators!
