Get with the pro-Graham! -Dr. Rob & Julie Graham Get with the pro-Graham! Dr. Graham plans to continue and expand the program to other departments.
Robert Graham, MD, MPH, ABOIM, FACP and Julie Graham, Certified Health Coach, 500-Hour Yoga Teacher and Positive Psychology Practitioner, combine their passions for a FRESH prescription to health. Dr. Graham received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Stony Brook, NY and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He completed two fellowships at Harvard Medical School, and earned a Master's Degree at The Harvard School of Public Health. Currently, he is the Program Director, Director of Resident Research and Director of Integrative Medicine for the Department of Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he also maintains his clinical practice. Growing up in Queens, NY in a bi-cultural home and multi-cultural neighborhood, Dr. Graham's career is a reflection of who he is and what he believes is essential for the preservation of health and the treatment of illness: investigating and incorporating effective integrative therapies (nutrition, exercise and stress management) with conventional medicine. As a resident in internal medicine he became heavily involved in community outreach and education and was both humbled and proud to receive the Community Service Award. When he returned to Lenox Hill Hospital as a faculty member, he won the prestigious “Attending of the Year Award" for his excellence in mentoring and teaching. He continues to participate in community service focusing on two major areas: Integrative Medicine (IM) and minority recruitment into the biomedical sciences. Dr. Graham was chosen as one of two people to do a three-year fellowship in General Internal Medicine/Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies at Harvard Medical School, while he earned his Master’s Degree at The Harvard School of Public Health. He also completed an additional fellowship in Medical Education at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Graham has also completed course work in Mind/Body Medicine with Dr. Herbert Benson, Positive Psychology, Lifestyle Medicine, and Botanical and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Graham has developed an individual clinical style of practice—integrating conventional medical education combined with his humanities and public health background in hopes of caring for the whole person: mind, body and soul. To gain further knowledge and education in integrative medicine, he became a Diplomat of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). In order to help improve medical residents' overall education and wellness, Dr. Graham has created team building initiatives. In June 2012, the "Lenox CHill Initiative" was born: a month-long weekly yoga course for medical residents led by Dr. Graham and his wife Julie. The initiative's mission is to bring yoga and the relaxation response into the hospital setting in order to help medical residents and faculty better manage work-related stressors, positively impact employee health, and increase academic and clinical performance. The story was televised on multiple days on the NY1 Channel. http://manhattan.ny1.com/content/ny1_living/health/164089/yoga-pilot-program-helps-docs-de-stress
In October 2012, Dr. Graham and Julie launched "Fare Wellness" on Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter...

By "Doing their Fare Share" cooking events, Robert and Julie want to help educate people about better food selection and preparation, with the hopes of reducing the burden of obesity. Dr. Graham’s first "Fare Share" event was featured in The Wall Street Journal after he coordinated a cooking class with the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan and a "baker's dozen" of medical residents from Lenox Hill Hospital. Their ongoing initiative is to teach medical residents about healthy cooking so they can pass these skills on to their patients. The article is available here:

The second "Fare Share" event was held in October 2012 at the Natural Gourmet Institute (NGI). Medical residents learned how to prepare a healthy and delicious vegetarian meal, and the event was purposefully planned on a Monday to support The Meatless Monday/Healthy Mondays campaigns. The third "Fare Share" event was held on a Meatless Monday--March 11th at NGI. Chef Richard LaMarita created an Ayurvedic-inspired Indian menu, one of his specialties. The medical residents all had to submit a "Fare-y-Tale": A vegetarian recipe, along with a "tale" as to why that recipe was chosen. Once again, the evening was successfully delicious on every level. As a member of several medical associations, Dr. Graham has authored various publications, including a 2005 seminal article in the Journal of the National Medical Association on the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in racial and ethnic minority populations in the U.S. Dr. Graham is recognized as a national leader in the fields of Complementary and Alternative/Integrative Medicine, Nutrition, Health Disparities and Cultural Competency and has spoken extensively about his research endeavors throughout the U.S. To see Julie's full bio, or to schedule a FREE initial Holisitic Health consultation, contact her at: www.yourfarelady.com

Dr. Graham is now prescribing Telemedicine visits! Read more below.....
As a Primary Care Doctor, or Internist, and also an Integrative Medicine Doctor, we are making extra efforts to offer our patients increased access for non-urgent visits.
I am happy to announce we have launched a FRESH telemedicine platform where I can assess your needs—and I’m also taking good old-fashioned phone call visits!
I’m advising all my patients to please call ahead of time if you have a routine follow-up. We will have limited offices hours over the next two weeks.
For many older patients with chronic diseases, like heart disease, lung disease, autoimmune issues and diabetes, it may just not be safe and worth coming into the office to risk possible COVID exposure. Call first.
We are always here for you and ready to serve. Please contact us via our website in our bio, email, DM or call us at 212-604-1316. Let us all stay connected, stay safe and stay FRESH!
