It’s my 12 year Cancerversary today. Mixed emotions as I reflect on the day my world was rocked and forever changed. I try to hold on to all of the lessons I learned while going through it..many of which I lose in times of stress. I need to appreciate every moment of every day even when I struggle. This day brings me back to my era of appreciation and I realize I have so much to be grateful for.. that I get to experience hard times and that in itself is something to celebrate. Since diagnosis I have started a business, started a foundation and donation program, gone back to Grad school, made amazing a friends, lost amazing friends, learned what is important at the end of the day and that is not only how you spend your day but who you spend your day with. Sometimes that day is just spent by myself and recharging and taking moments to breath. I don’t have to do any other than just keep breathing sometimes and I’ve learned that sometimes, that is enough.
