Here’s why: nano hairstrokes are designed to mimic and blend with YOUR natural brow hair. If your hairs are light and fine, the added nano strokes should complement that softness. Making tattooed strokes thicker or darker just to create fullness can make them stand out against your real hair and ultimately look more obviously tattooed.

For this client, we combined nano hairstrokes with small amounts of shading strategically placed throughout her brows. The shading adds density and depth while keeping the individual hairstrokes visible.

The hairstrokes create the texture; the shading adds the fullness. Together, they give the brows a softly defined finish.

Client wanted a result that is super natural — nothing too filled in but addresses the shape issues toward the back of the brow. For clients that have less hair toward the ends, we need to make sure we layer enough color to blend into the mids/ body of the brow where most of the hair usually is.

This will help create a more polished results without needing a result that is all dark everywhere. For the first session, we strategically layer color and a follow up appointment is recommended to help continue to layer color. This way, we are always adding color conservatively. ❤️

By placing fine, tattooed strokes between your existing hairs, we create the illusion of more hair. This is what makes nano such a beautiful option for enhancing sparse areas without a filled-in makeup look.

Real brow hair has dimension, while tattooed strokes sit within the skin and heal softer than they appear immediately after your appointment. The goal is to blend with your natural hair, so an area with less hair may still look slightly different from the fuller areas around it.

Your existing hair, skin, and the size of the gaps all help determine what’s achievable. Some brows benefit from nano alone; others may need added shading for a more balanced result. Healed results are assessed at the follow-up to see where refinement is needed.

For all clients, depending on your skin type, it will affect how much color you retain. I always tell my clients to expect two sessions for full results (initial + touchup) to be able to build up to your dream brow.

❗️The goal isn’t to pack in as many strokes as possible ❗️

Nano brows are meant to blend with your natural brow hair—not completely replace it. Each stroke needs a little space around it so it can heal soft and visible. When too many strokes are layered closely together, from afar, they look blurry, more solid, and lose that realistic, airy look.

That’s also why nano isn’t automatically the best option for every brow. If you have very sparse areas, oily skin, or you want a fuller “filled-in” result, nano alone may not give you the density you’re imagining. In those cases, a combination brow or soft ombré powder brow may actually look more natural and age better over time.

The best technique isn’t always the one you originally came in asking for—it’s the one that works with your skin, natural hair, and desired result. 🤎

Some clients don’t need a result that look like makeup — some just need a better every day base. Especially for clients that have fine, sparse brows, putting defined, darker makeup on top of their eyebrows with no other face makeup on can create a mismatch in their appearance.

For this type of result, you’ll get an overall subtle enhancement that builds on your natural brow making no make up days more effortless. Also, this better shape and base makes adding makeup on top all the more easier for the days you choose to 😍🙏🏼

We did ombre powder to help this client enhance shape and color. By bringing out the natural structure of her brows, her results make her shape more flattering, harmonious and symmetric, and more polished

Ombré powder results can heal natural too 😍 think more precise and long lasting compared to brow tint but softer than brow makeup on the skin

Client’s main goal was to rebuild her arch and tail shape using nano hairstroke technique — other techniques like ombre powder might’ve created too much harsh definition against her bare tails so the first step to build density would be to add hair like texture with nano technique

Moving forward, should she ever decide to go darker or fuller, we can easily build her up to either a combo brow or a full ombre powder
