MARRIAGE ISN’T 50/50… IT’S 100% ALL IN.

Somebody coined the phrase, “Happy wife, happy life.” It sounds good… but it isn’t Scripture.

The Bible doesn’t command husbands to spend their lives chasing a wife’s happiness while she simply receives. Neither does it command wives to sit back waiting to be served.

Jesus taught us a different way.

“The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve…” (Matthew 20:28)

Now imagine what would happen if BOTH the husband AND the wife entered marriage with THAT mindset.

A husband asking, “How can I serve my wife today?”

A wife asking, “How can I serve my husband today?”

Now nobody is keeping score.
Nobody is demanding.
Nobody is competing.
Nobody is constantly saying, “What about me?”

When two servants marry, both are cared for.

Marriage was never designed to be one-sided. It was designed to be a covenant where two people willingly lay down selfishness and pick up love, sacrifice, honor, and service.

Selfish people struggle in marriage because marriage constantly calls you to think beyond yourself.

Stop asking, “Who’s serving me?”

Start asking, “How can I reflect Christ to my spouse today?”

That’s how covenant thrives.

STOP TEXTING ALL DAY AND START TALKING TO YOUR SPOUSE.

You should be hearing your spouse’s voice at least three times a day if your schedules allow it.

A quick “Good morning.”
A midday “How’s your day going?”
A “I’m on my way home” or “Good night.”

Why?

Because voices build connection in ways that texts never will. Hearing each other’s tone, laughter, encouragement, and affection helps keep your hearts unified. Silence creates distance. Communication builds covenant.

The enemy loves disconnected marriages. He loves when husband and wife become roommates who only discuss bills, children, and problems.

Call your spouse.
Pray together.
Laugh together.
Encourage one another.

Protect your connection before you have to repair your relationship.

Marriage doesn’t stay strong by accident. It stays strong by intentional communication.

📖 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying…” — Ephesians 4:29

Talk to each other. Your marriage is worth more than a few unanswered texts.

Before you make sure your spouse smells good on the outside, ask yourself this…

When was the last time you helped them get clean on the inside?

God didn’t just command husbands to provide, protect, and lead. He also commanded them to wash their wives with the Word (Ephesians 5:25–27).

A physical bath removes dirt from the body.

A spiritual bath removes lies, fear, bitterness, offense, discouragement, and the contamination this world tries to leave on the soul.

Husbands, when was the last time you sat your wife down and prayed over her? Read Scripture with her? Encouraged her with God’s promises? Corrected her in love instead of criticism? Covered her spiritually instead of assuming someone else would?

And wives, don’t reject the washing. A godly husband isn’t trying to control you by giving you the Word—he’s fulfilling a God-given assignment.

Many marriages are physically clean but spiritually filthy.

We spend money on soap, lotion, perfume, and cologne, yet neglect the one cleansing that transforms the heart.

Here’s a question every married couple should answer tonight:

“When was the last time we took a spiritual bath together?”

Don’t wait until your marriage is drowning in offense, confusion, or division before opening the Bible.

Clean bodies are good.

Clean hearts are better.

Marriage Challenge: Before you go to sleep tonight, spend 10–15 minutes washing your marriage with the Word and prayer. Your soul needs it just as much as your body does.

Stop waiting until something TRAGIC happens to you or your spouse before you learn two powerful words…

“I APOLOGIZE.”

An apology is often the antidote to sabotage.

Your marriage doesn’t always need another argument. Sometimes it just needs someone humble enough to say, “I was wrong. Please forgive me.”

Stop feeding your EGO. Pride has destroyed more homes than people care to admit. Pride keeps mouths shut, hearts hard, and relationships broken.

Practice saying:
“I apologize for wronging you.”
“I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Will you forgive me?”

Those words don’t make you weak.
They make you WISE.

Wrongful divorces don’t usually happen overnight. They are often the result of years of unaddressed offenses, hardened hearts, and apologies that were never spoken.

Let’s stop making repentance look optional.

Let’s fight our pride before it fights our marriage.

Do better. Love better. Apologize quicker.

Stop blaming MARRIAGE for the consequences of ignoring GOD.

Many people don’t hate marriage… they hate the RESULTS of marrying the WRONG PERSON.

You never sought GOD.
You never sought WISDOM.
You never sought GODLY COUNSEL.

You sought your feelings.
You sought your loneliness.
You sought your lust.

Then years later you blame the covenant for a decision GOD never told you to make.

And PLEASE stop putting GOD’S NAME on your choices.

“God said this is my husband.”
“God said this is my wife.”

Did HE… or did your emotions?

We have to stop lying on GOD to justify what our flesh wanted.

Scripture says, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)

If you refuse His direction, don’t be surprised when you end up carrying burdens He never intended for you.

Marriage is not the enemy.
Disobedience is.

The truth is, a lot of people’s disdain for marriage didn’t begin with marriage—it began when they ignored the wisdom of GOD before they ever said, “I do.”

Tell the TRUTH.

MARRIED FOLK…

STOP acting like your spouse has to be PERFECT to deserve your love.

If every mistake turns into a courtroom…
If every disagreement turns into character assassination…
If every offense gets met with disrespect, yelling, and cutting words…

You are slowly teaching your spouse to WALK ON EGGSHELLS around you.

That’s not peace.
That’s fear.

The Bible says love is not easily angered. (1 Corinthians 13:5)

That means mature people make room for human error.

When your spouse misses it…
CORRECT WITH LOVE.
RESPOND WITH UNDERSTANDING.
EXTEND FORGIVENESS.

Stop trying to WIN every argument while your marriage is LOSING.

Nobody wants to live in a house where one mistake feels like the end of the world.

Fight the problem—not each other.

Some of y’all have become experts at pointing out faults but beginners at giving grace.

Marriage isn’t sustained by perfection.
It’s sustained by two people who keep choosing humility, repentance, forgiveness, and love.

LET’S FIGHT TO KEEP MARRIAGES TOGETHER…
NOT DESTROY THEM WITH OUR MOUTHS.

Your spouse should feel SAFE enough to grow—not scared to make a mistake.

STOP BEING BITTER ABOUT MARRIAGE! 🚨

Some of y’all ain’t mad at marriage…

You’re mad because YOU, your parents, your grandparents, or somebody you know never learned how to BE MARRIED.

There’s a difference.

You don’t become a nurse, lawyer, mechanic, or hairstylist without being TAUGHT. But somehow people think they can enter a HOLY COVENANT with no instruction, no discipleship, no accountability, no self-control, and no understanding of God’s commandments…

Then blame MARRIAGE when it falls apart.

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

Marriage isn’t the problem.

IGNORANCE is.

PRIDE is.

DISOBEDIENCE is.

And let’s tell the TRUTH…

Too many of us grew up watching dysfunction while everybody kept saying, “Mind your business.”

Some families covered it up.

Some churches avoided the hard conversations.

Some people smiled on Sunday and suffered Monday through Saturday.

Then the next generation inherited confusion instead of biblical understanding.

Now folks are preaching, “Don’t get married.”

No…

Get EDUCATED.

Get HEALED.

Get DELIVERED.

Get COUNSEL.

Get IN THE WORD.

Stop condemning God’s institution because people refused to follow God’s instructions.

Marriage didn’t fail.

People failed to honor the covenant.

The answer isn’t to become BITTER…

The answer is to become BETTER.

Can we PLEASE stop lying to people?

Tell the TRUTH.

Teach the TRUTH.

Live the TRUTH.

Because the next generation deserves more than our excuses—they deserve our obedience.

Everybody AIN’T serving the Kingdom of Light.

Stop assuming everybody clapping for you is praying for you.

Some people celebrate your downfall in private.
Some despise the light of Christ in you.
Some would love to see your life end in shame.
Some can’t stand your peace.
Some can’t stand your marriage.
Some can’t stand the favor of GOD on your life.

That’s why you better stop putting your trust in people and put it in JESUS CHRIST.

The Bible tells us our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Whether the attack comes through hatred, jealousy, manipulation, or any other scheme of the enemy, GOD has not left His children defenseless.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS is still enough.
The name of JESUS still has power.
The Spirit of GOD still protects His people.

People may watch…
People may plot…
People may pray against you…

BUT GOD FIGHTS FOR THOSE WHO BELONG TO HIM.

And for every marriage that’s submitted to CHRIST, don’t be surprised when it faces opposition. The enemy hates covenant because covenant reflects Christ’s love and faithfulness. But what GOD establishes, He is able to sustain by His grace.

So don’t panic.
PRAY.

Don’t fear.
BELIEVE.

Don’t give the enemy your attention.
Give JESUS your obedience.

No weapon formed against those who belong to Christ will ultimately prevail when they remain in Him.

Y’all hear me carefully.

GOD is not so committed to preserving a marriage that He is willing to sacrifice your soul to do it.

Some of y’all have been taught to worship the covenant instead of the Covenant Maker.

If a relationship is leading you deeper into fear, manipulation, violence, or unrepentant abuse, don’t call that “the will of God.” Abuse of ANY kind is not the character of GOD.

Some people survived abuse. Others were emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or physically destroyed by it.

That’s why you need a REVELATION of REAL LOVE before you ever enter a covenant. Stop choosing based on butterflies, chemistry, and potential. Learn God’s definition of love, character, self-control, faithfulness, and repentance FIRST.

The truth is, some marriages were never built on obedience to GOD in the first place. And GOD cares more about your soul than preserving what He never ordained.

Love never gives anyone permission to sin against you without repentance.
Holiness is never an excuse for abuse.
And silence is not the same thing as faith.

Stop romanticizing suffering as if every painful relationship is your cross to bear.

Know the difference between carrying your cross… and carrying someone else’s rebellion.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
