Fourteen years ago, I came to this country from Thailand alone.

It was my first time ever on an airplane. Everything was new. I barely spoke English, and the degrees I had from Thailand couldn’t really be used here.

So I did what I could do. I became a nanny.

Eight years ago, I left that job. And I did not leave because I had a dream.

I left because it was not working for me anymore, and I decided to go and find something else. That is the whole reason. It was not brave and it was not a plan.

I had worked as a nanny for years. It was what I had. And then one day it simply was not what I wanted anymore, and I had no idea at all what came next.

So I looked around for what I could actually do.

I have always loved makeup. Always. Before it was a job, before it was anything, I was just the person who bought too much of it.

I found a school in New York City that ran short courses. Not a degree, not a famous program. Short courses. I took them.

And then I started a business, which is a very generous word for what it was in the beginning.

That was eight years ago.

I am telling you this because I think people assume that if someone is good at something now, she must have been headed there the entire time.

Mine started with a job I wanted to leave and a thing I happened to love.

You do not need the plan first. You need to start, and then get better every single year.

I built this from zero.

And now I know I can build something.

We serve approximately 100 weddings each year, and new client inquiries keep coming in. I’m building a team so we can care for more brides while bringing the same beautiful work and calm experience to every wedding morning.

Newer makeup artists and hairstylists are welcome! You should have foundational skills, your own complete professional kit for the services you offer, and a willingness to learn and grow. You don’t need years of bridal experience. I’m also happy to hear from artists who do both!

I’m looking for people who are reliable, friendly, professional, open to feedback, and comfortable traveling throughout NY, NJ, and CT. These are ongoing, paid bridal opportunities. Applications are open on a rolling basis, and I’m planning a small introduction group for November.
