Is it time for a retwist? 👀
If your roots have a little more freedom than usual, your parts are becoming harder to see, your locs are starting to marry each other at the root, or your usual style is no longer holding the way it normally does… it might be time to check in with your loctician.
But remember: more frequent retwists do not automatically mean healthier locs**.** Your ideal maintenance schedule depends on your hair, your locs, your lifestyle, and the health of your scalp and roots.
The goal is not to keep your locs looking freshly retwisted at all times. The goal is to maintain them in a way that supports the health and longevity of your loc journey.

Healthy locs require healthy care, and that doesn’t mean you need a 12-step routine or every product on the shelf. 👀
Your locs need the basics: regular cleansing, proper drying, moisture when needed, a healthy scalp, and products that are appropriate for *your* hair and scalp, not just whatever is trending.
We also encourage our clients to pay attention to ingredients. Some short-chain alcohols, such as denatured alcohol, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol, can be drying for the hair and scalp.
We also believe in keeping your routine simple. Natural and plant-based ingredients can be a great option for many people, but “natural” does not automatically mean better for every scalp or every loc journey. Sometimes a professionally recommended, store-bought or medicated product is exactly what a specific concern requires.
The goal is not to use the most products. The goal is to use the right products for your needs.
