A little ‘SIL’ moment this week on 6mo+ of untouched hair! 🥰🌸🩷

Please keep in mind, my youngest has had a few smaller procedures done yesterday. And I am currently just getting done with getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed!! I’ll respond to messages when I can during this busy week!

From what I’ve been seeing.. it’s time to share a few reminders for your families 😊

There is NOTHING more anxiety ridden, aside from hearing a child vomit randomly, 🥴 is the big L word floating around their classroom/daycare!

Ways to hopefully avoid lice coming into your home…

•DO NOT share brushes, pony tails, hats, sports helmets/hats, sweatshirts/hoodies, winter stocking hats
•Avoid close hugs head-head
•DO check your child’s hair EVERYTIME you wash it, or more if that’s once a week.
•ADD tea tree, lavender, eucalyptus, or citronella/lemongrass oil to your shampoos
•USE a leave in conditioner of the same scents

IF you or your child manages to get it…
•wash all bedding, stuffies, hats, brushes etc in the HOTTEST water possible
•do treat the person affected with a treatment (also check all siblings and other family members)
•section hair in 1/4” (preferably smaller) partings all through the head and use a lice comb to get out all dead bugs and knits that could’ve been laid
•treat again within 9-12 days!

IF cases keep reoccuring or in a time of desperate help, there is a local place in Des Moines that can help treat whoever has been affected!

With all of this, I have had a handful of younger people in my chair who has had lice. For my safety, if I find it prior to servicing, I can and will refuse the service. If I find it during, I will finish the service to the best of my ability.

Due to this.. for the sake of myself to prevent giving it to my daughters, I do treat myself automatically each time this happens. It can get very costly and time consuming to always be treating!! But I would rather be safe than sorry!!! I do take all the precautions and wash and sanitize the way I should inside the salon.

It has been more frequent than not so… unfortunately, I do ask that if you have teens/younger kids to please make sure they are LIC3 free before coming in.. if not, and I find it while working on the client, I will be adding an extra charge onto their service to cover the inconvenience.

Spring break is next week.. I am already full and not taking any more appointments as my girls need me just as much as you guys do!

My madre came up for a trim today!! This is the longest her hair has been in over 30 years and she has the most gorgeous natural color.. I can’t wait until I get to have this 🤞🏼💕
