Why did we choose Korean skincare at The Beauty Plug? 🇰🇷✨

Because Korean skincare has a very different philosophy: don’t wait until the skin is damaged to start taking care of it.

Instead of constantly stripping, peeling, and pushing the skin as hard as possible, Korean skincare puts a huge focus on hydration, supporting the skin barrier, calming inflammation, and keeping the skin healthy enough to function the way it’s supposed to.

And that’s exactly how I like to treat skin.

Yes, we want to work on acne, hyperpigmentation, texture, fine lines, and aging. But I don’t believe your skin has to be irritated or peeling all the time for a treatment to be working.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is slow down, strengthen the skin, give it what it needs, and then introduce corrective treatments strategically.

Have you ever heard of oxygen therapy for the skin?

In Korean skincare, you may hear it called Carboxy Therapy. It uses CO₂ on the skin, which causes your body to respond by increasing circulation and delivering more oxygen-rich blood to the area.

So why would I use this in a facial?

I really like Carboxy when the skin is looking dull, tired, dehydrated or just needs some life brought back into it. It’s also a great treatment after a lot of sun exposure because the sun can leave our skin feeling dehydrated, stressed and looking a little more dull than usual.

Carboxy helps support circulation and can leave the skin looking brighter, plumper and more refreshed.

But this is also why I don’t believe in doing the exact same facial on every single person.

Moms spend so much of their lives taking care of everyone else. Now it’s my turn to take care of her. 🤍

Today we started her series of six chemical peels, and I can’t wait to watch her skin transform over the next few months.

A lot of people think chemical peels are just for dark spots, but they do so much more. By encouraging healthy cell turnover, they help fade hyperpigmentation while also stimulating collagen production. Over time, that can soften the look of fine lines, improve skin texture, and leave the skin looking brighter, smoother, and more radiant.

Aging is a privilege. My goal isn’t to erase it, but to help her skin look as healthy, vibrant, and confident as she feels.
