Proper timing gives the solution time to develop and helps create the smooth, even color you want for homecoming night.

Look at those crisp lines right before the first rinse!

This custom spray tan was created using BakD solution with a 2:1 blend of Model Off Duty and Matriarch.

The first photo shows the tan immediately before rinsing, while the cosmetic bronzer is still on the skin. The second photo was taken right after the first rinse. It’s completely normal for the color to look lighter once that initial bronzer washes away.

The tan isn’t finished developing yet. Color continues to deepen for up to 24 hours after application, so don’t panic if your tan looks lighter immediately after rinsing. Follow your aftercare directions, avoid applying products until instructed, and let the solution continue working.

Cancer Update — Today is the next step.

Today I have an ultrasound of my thyroid to take a closer look at the area that showed up on my PET scan. Thankfully, the PET scan was otherwise mostly reassuring, so this is the piece we need to investigate before we know exactly what comes next.

If the ultrasound is able to determine that the area is benign, the plan is to move forward with radiation next.

If the ultrasound can’t rule it out, the next step will be a biopsy. From there, we’ll get those results and make a new plan based on what we learn.

So, once again, it’s one appointment and one answer at a time.

A little bit of good news to share today.

I had my PET scan on Wednesday, and the results were mostly positive and reassuring. There was something that showed up near my thyroid that we’ll need to take a closer look at, so there are still some questions to answer. Otherwise, though, the results were reassuring, and I’m very thankful for that news.

Cancer has involved a lot of waiting, testing, appointments, and taking things one step at a time. Getting reassuring results from this scan feels like a pretty significant win.
