✂️🩵Our 7th Annual Back To School Free Cuts & Backpack event was absolutely amazing this year!!!!! 102 Free haircuts and over 300 backpacks and supplies were given out! So many children were blessed. Dave David Brandon handed out hundreds of popsicles! It was a beautiful day. God definitely had His hand on this event and everyone who showed up and volunteered their time! We would like to Thank our friends from Spindletop who were our top supporter in this and not only did they donate funds to purchase backpacks and supplies they also donated their time Saturday and stood outside and personally handed them out! We would like to thank Johnny Asevedo and the Destiny Church family - they had a vision for this 7 years ago and got this rolling for our community! A big thanks to Duphil!!! They gave a big donation! A big thank you to our friends and neighbors Birth Right and Bloom Nutrition for your wonderful backpack donations. A Big thank you to our dear friends and neighbors Nan’s Forget Me Knot for donating their time and setting up outside to bless the community with flowers! A Big Thank You to additional friends and clients that donated funds and supplies to make this possible!!! I know I probably forgot someone and I know these people gave from their heart not pursuing recognition but you deserve to be recognized for giving. A Big Thank You to our Wonderful Wonderful staff here Hair & CO.!! These professionals are something special!! Without them donating their time this side of the “Free cuts” would not be possible. You guys don’t get enough credit but you Rock!!!! And Thank you to our volunteers shop kids: Gabbi Gabrielle Schwartz & Jonah and our sweet friend Amber Robert Fontenot Cormier!
This was the first year we extended our invitation of adding additional hairstylists and barbers to help! We would like to give a big sincere Thank you to: Cameron King he is one of our newest stylists Laney’s dad who came out of retirement from barbering and he knocked it out of the park! Kathy Granger Lynd from The Collective Salon! She’s been cutting hair a long time, she lead us in prayer when we started and it meant so much! Mason Schion with Peveto’s Barbershop he is friends with our Barber Chilo! So glad to have you come out!! Madison and Ruben Alaniz with Growth Hair Studio and Wolf Den MMA! Ruben is pursuing his barbering career and has a heart for children he teaches MMA. Madison has worked along side us for many years! We were honored to have her return to the salon and help out with this years event!
