💫Curls need moisture!! By moisture I mean water! Most curls struggle to life up to their potential because they are dehydrated.
💫Products matter! Know what’s in the products you use. Often people reach for that new trendy product and it’s full of ingredients that are going to dehydrate the hair over time and set you back!
💫Consistency is key!!!
💫And lastly don’t be afraid to seek professional help coming up with a strategy. It a confusing world of curl information and misinformation, finding a curly specialist to help decipher the noise is worth the investment.

Hi! I’m Nina.
I wanted to take a minute to introduce (or reintroduce) myself to all my new followers!
Many of you probably started following me because I am a curly hair specialist and curly girly, but I want to share a few things about me you may not know!
So here is 5 things about me you may not realize from my IG page:
1. I am a solopreneur/owner of a studio salon.
2. My cat is my best friend!
3. I’m born and raise in Colorado, and it will always be home to me.
4. I didn’t learn to take care of my own curls til I took my 1st curly hair cutting class in 2016.
5. I enjoy reading. And non-fiction, biographies, and memoirs are my favorite genres. (Just finished reading “Don’t Touch My Hair” by Emma Dabiri.)
Oh, and I’m. A big coffee lover!!
I’m so happy you all decided to join me on my page!

It’s not the length, like so many believe.
It’s not the volume, that so many want to achieve.
The beauty of curls comes from the health of the hair, the love the curl are shone, and the confidence of the person rocking them!
Love your curls! They are the accessory you never take off.
Wear them with pride! They are your crown, your glory.
Your not crazy! Your curl really do prefer some products over others.
And most product manufactures create products for what they consider “the average” hair.
Then they try to sell the product as a one size fits all!
But what about the huge demographic of us that product company aren’t thinking about.
Or those of us that live in an extremely humid environment, like Florida. Products work differently here!

People ask me often what does “avidity” mean.
Definition:
a•vid•i•ty (noun) a positive feeling of wanting to push ahead with something; extreme eagerness; enthusiasm; willingness; dedication.
There were a few reason why I choose the name Pure Avidity Salon.
To me, the name reflects my passion and dedication to help people with curly hair!
This little salon in my corner of the world intentionally cultivated to highlighting the beauty of curls and the journey of learning to caring for and loving your curls.
It’s a safe place for myself and other girls to let their curls authentically shine!
It is a place free of curl judgment and a place for curls and our emotions around our curls to heal.
This salon is a tribute to my passion and dedication, and that why it’s called Pure Avidity Salon, a safe place for curls!
