Monarch migration. Saw these beauties enjoying the sunflowers blooming in our pollinator plot this morning.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. There has been some changes going on in our world. In the last year, we have moved from our location up near Smithville Missouri to a new area location between Lawrence and Ottawa, Kansas. We are in the process of building a new homestead and investing in our future pollinators. We’ve been busy building a 100 acre pollinator plot with help from the Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund. The plot is now finishing up its 2nd year and is doing well. 🐝🦋🌻🌼🌸

Last weekend we expanded our beekeeping operation. We split the majority of our hives, going from 11 hives to 20, with the addition of 2 more out yards. Thanks to the hubby, I have 6 more horizontal hives here at our home apiary.
