Brad finished the season with a 9-1 record and 1.09 ERA on the way to helping Oxford Baseball win its first ever Regional Championship.

Brogans on the Rise
At 15, Logan Scott wasn’t thinking about building a brand - he was simply looking to earn extra money. Armed with homemade flyers, he and his then-girlfriend (now wife), Brooke, began knocking on doors around Oxford. The name came naturally: Brooke plus Logan equals Brogans.

"We were charging eight dollars an hour," Logan recalls. "All of our friends were making five, so we thought we were doing pretty well."

In the early years, Brooke and Logan focused on small outdoor projects and yardwork with a slogan: "We do any and all odd jobs." What began as a high school side hustle steadily grew, though Logan admits he never planned on turning it into a full-time career.

That changed in 2019. After graduating from college, Logan made the decision to invest fully in the business rather than work for someone else. "I realized I wanted to build something of my own," he said.

Around the same time, Brooke pursued her corporate career after earning her degree from Oakland University and later completing her MBA at The University of Michigan. Though her path moved in a different direction, she remains part of the brand’s foundation. The company logo still features caricatures of the married couple - a nod to how it all began.

Six months ago, the business rebranded as Brogans Outdoor Services to reflect its growth and expanded capabilities. Today, the company provides mowing, fertilization, landscaping, hardscaping, deck installation, concrete work, excavation, lighting, plantings, and snow removal. What once centered on lawn care now includes large-scale projects, some exceeding $100,000.

"There’s more skill involved now," Logan said. "And I enjoy the challenge of doing something different every day."

Growth has accelerated rapidly. In the past year alone, the company expanded by 400 percent, doubled its team, and built out office staff to support operations. Before last year, Logan managed sales, marketing, on the job labor, and administration himself. Learning to delegate - and building a strong leadership team - became a major turning point.

Today, Logan F., the project manager, oversees field operations, allowing Logan to focus on company culture, strategy, and long-term growth.

Residential work and referrals once made up nearly all of the company’s business. Now commercial contracts are steadily increasing, with the goal of reaching a balanced 50-50 mix between residential and commercial services as marketing efforts grow.

For Logan, however, success is about more than revenue. Born and raised in Oxford, he comes from multiple generations deeply rooted in the community, with dozens of relatives still living locally. He sees Brogans as a way to give back to the town that shaped his family and to provide steady, meaningful work for other Oxford families.

"We sell value," he said. "Before you make that final payment, we promise you’re going to be happy."

His larger goal is straightforward but ambitious.

"I want Brogans to be a company people are proud of," Logan said. "I want us to be Oxford’s go-to outdoor service company - not by competing with everyone, but by building something great right here."

Logan credits the team behind Brogans Outdoor Services for helping drive that vision forward. Spencer manages client relations and project coordination, Todd leads fertilization and plant health care, Olivia handles marketing, and Project Manager Logan F. oversees field operations. Together, they reflect the company’s core values: skill, reliability, and a commitment to making Oxford a better place - one outdoor project at a time.
