I witnessed monks from Gaden Shartse Monastic University consecrate a new stupa beneath Cathedral Rock.

designed to anchor peace, coherence, and intention into the Earth itself.

Your body stores when it feels stressed, starved, or unsafe.
So create safety.

Deep sleep lowers cortisol and stabilizes hunger hormones.
⢠đ˝ Avoid severe calorie restriction.
Extreme dieting signals famine â metabolism slows â storage increases.

Protein + fiber + healthy fats = stable blood sugar = lower insulin spikes.

When the moon disappears, it isnât absence â

The Energy of This First New Moon of the Year

It strips away illusions and leaves only what is true.

đ Saying Goodbye to the Year of the Snake: Hello Fire Horse
As we release the Year of the Snake, we release a cycle defined by shedding, truth-telling, and the discomfort of awakening. The Snake does not rush. It asks us to sit with what is hidden, to confront what must be seen, and to let go of skins that no longer fit.
The year ahead carries a different energy â one oriented toward movement, rebuilding, and collective direction. If the Snake taught us what had to end, the new animal asks what we are willing to carry forward.
This transition matters not only personally, but historically.
As America approaches 250 years, we are no longer a young experiment. We are being asked â as a people â to mature. To reckon honestly with power, responsibility, repair, and care. To decide whether freedom is merely inherited, or consciously renewed.
2026 is the Year of the Horse â specifically the Year of the Fire Horse (also called the Red Fire Horse). đđĽ
This cycle begins with Chinese New Year on February 17, 2026, and runs until February 5 or 7, 2027 in the lunar calendar. ďżź
In Chinese astrology, the Horse is associated with energy, freedom, movement, courage, and forward momentum, and the Fire element adds intensity, passion, and dynamic drive to that influence. ďżź
So while 2025 â the Year of the Snake â invited introspection and inner transformation, 2026 calls for action, bold decisions, and outward movement into the world.
