I'm currently based in LA but travel back every 8 weeks to PTC. I am Suzy Baker and I own a studio where I specialize in cutting, coloring and styling hair.
I received my formal training at Paul Mitchell the School. This is where I truly became passionate about doing hair and discovered my ambitious side as I co-created a team of students called the "Production Team." We volunteered on various local film productions doing hair and makeup. This being my first exposure to the film industry I found that I could not get enough of the unique energy and exc
itement I felt from working on set. After I graduated, I moved to New York City. Here I was able to build on my past production experience by becoming key hair and make-up stylist for Big Iron Productions. I also completed an extensive apprenticeship at a salon in Manhattan called Tosler Davis. I worked directly under salon owner Alan Tosler who taught me the art of individualizing hair cuts based on each person's bone structure and hair type. He emphasized the technique of styling using minimal product and no damaging hot tools to create the perfect look for everyone. I am proud to say I mastered this skill of using only a boar bristle round brush and a blowdryer to produce a flawless NYC style blow out on any texture of hair and any shape of face. Since my time in NYC I have had the opportunity to travel the world and recognize global beauty. Specifically in Brazil, China, Thailand and Southwestern Europe. I have combined my interests, experiences and skills into simply doing peoples hair. I believe that looking and feeling our best has a direct effect on our energy and mood. It's an honor to be able to bring this positive perception to people on a daily basis :)
