As a massage therapist, long nails and massage don’t mix—and it’s about much more than appearance.

Here are the biggest reasons:

* Client comfort: Even slightly long nails can scratch, poke, or pinch the skin during techniques like deep tissue, trigger point work, or myofascial release. Clients often notice it immediately.
* Safety: Long nails increase the chance of accidentally breaking the skin, especially on clients with thin, fragile skin, older adults, or those taking blood thinners.
* Better body mechanics: Keeping your nails short allows you to use your fingertips, finger pads, knuckles, and forearms correctly. Long nails can force you to change your hand position, leading to poor technique and hand fatigue.
* Hygiene: Dirt, oil, lotion, bacteria, and dead skin cells can collect under long nails, making them harder to clean thoroughly between clients.
* Professionalism: Well-trimmed nails show clients you prioritize their comfort and safety. Many clients specifically appreciate therapists whose hands feel smooth and clean.
* Reduced risk of nail damage: Deep tissue work puts significant pressure on your fingers. Long nails are much more likely to crack, split, or tear during a session—and that can be painful.

Pregnancy is beautiful… but let’s be honest, it can also be uncomfortable! 🤰💕

As your body changes, it’s common to experience back pain, hip pain, sciatica, swollen feet, neck and shoulder tension, and trouble sleeping.

Prenatal massage can help:
✔️ Reduce back, hip, and pelvic discomfort
✔️ Relieve muscle tension and aches
✔️ Improve circulation
✔️ Decrease swelling in the hands and feet
✔️ Promote relaxation and reduce stress
✔️ Improve sleep quality
✔️ Help you feel more comfortable throughout your pregnancy

One of my favorite features in my studio is my prenatal massage table with a belly opening. Many expecting moms love being able to comfortably lie face down and take pressure off their back for a while. It’s a unique experience that allows for relaxation while still prioritizing comfort and safety.

Pregnancy is hard work. Take some time to care for yourself, too. ❤️

Everyone is welcome in my massage studio regardless of age, gender, race, background, body type, or lifestyle. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, judgment-free space where people can relax, heal, and feel their best.
HOWEVER, there is one exception:👉 anyone seeking anything other than professional massage therapy.

I take great pride in my work, my reputation, and the safe environment I’ve created for my clients. If you’re looking for legitimate therapeutic massage, pain relief, relaxation, or self-care, you’re in the right place. If you’re looking for anything inappropriate, please keep scrolling.

My studio is a place of healing, professionalism, and respect—and that’s exactly how it will remain.

A good deep tissue massage works into tight muscles and stubborn knots while allowing your body to relax and release tension. You may feel some discomfort in problem areas, but you should still be able to breathe normally, relax, and communicate with your therapist.

Pain that makes you hold your breath, tense up, pull away, or feel like you’re being tortured is NOT the goal.

Deep tissue isn’t about how much pain you can tolerate—it’s about getting results.

I always adjust pressure to what your body needs because the best massage is one that helps your muscles release, not one that leaves you bruised and dreading your next appointment.

Remember: “Hurts good” = productive. “Hurts bad” = too much.

Neck massage while face down allows for deeper, more effective relief.
This position helps the neck muscles fully relax, making it easier to release tension and stiffness. It improves circulation, reduces tightness, and can ease headaches and discomfort that build up from stress or poor posture. With the body supported and relaxed, the work is often more targeted and effective.

A prenatal table offers unique benefits compared to side-lying with pillows or using a wedge.
It allows expecting moms to comfortably lie face down, which can provide more effective relief for the low back, hips, and shoulders. This position helps the body fully relax, allowing for more even pressure and better access to key areas of tension.

While side-lying and wedges are safe and supportive options, a prenatal table often provides a more balanced, comfortable experience—helping moms feel more at ease and allowing for deeper, more effective work.

Leg stretching can be very beneficial for sciatica relief.
It helps loosen tight muscles in the hips, glutes, and hamstrings that can put pressure on the sciatic nerve. Regular stretching improves flexibility, reduces tension, and supports better mobility, which can ease pain and discomfort that travels down the leg.
