Color correcting isn’t a short process!
Before her appointment she came in for a consultation and we discussed all of her hair color history.
Within the past two years she had a green patch, colored her entire head a dark brown, and she informed me that she has well water.
So I did what any hairstylist that is performing color would do:
Prepared for what to expect/ the possibilities of what could happen once I lifted her hair.
And here we are, a beautiful dark bronde balayage!

That deep condition you did before you first got those braids AINT gonna cut it!
If the goal outside of the braids are to have healthy hair & length.....ya GOTS to keep up on your treatments & trims.
Even with braids, keeping up with your haircare routine is crucial during the summer!
Here’s why:
Hydration: Hot weather can dry out your hair, so continue moisturizing to prevent breakage.
Scalp Health: Keep your scalp clean and fresh to avoid buildup and irritation.
Protection: UV rays and chlorine can damage hair, so use a leave-in conditioner & protective spray.
And to keep it a hunnid, I don’t recommend you having them in past 4-6weeks. I’d tell you why but yall don’t wanna hear me, yall just wanna dance 😅
Can we give it up for both haircolors?
She wanted a brighter & cooler toned blonde.
Not a honey blonde.
What do you do when this happens? Well in this instance I:
1. ���Didn’t take it personally.
2. ���Asked her what she wanted to see more/less of comparing her inspo and current hair color.
3. ���Spoke to her about what I could do to adjust her hair color to be closer to what she was looking for.
4. ���Offered to adjust her color, free of charge.
It turned out fantastic!
Brightened up her highlight (I used DDL), reformulated her toner, and thanked her for being willing to come back!
Clients can & will bring in an inspo photo/video.
The expectation is for us to get it exactly the same if not close to it.
Sometimes it doesn’t happen, we’re human & it’s art, but it’s not a failure when you have to pivot!
