🕰️ How often should we be cutting our hair? Well, it depends!

If you're keeping your hair cropped and tidy, then your window might be 3-5 weeks since hair on average grows ½ inch a month.

Maybe your hair is longer - then our recommendation might be somewhere in 8-12 weeks. For certain styles that extra few weeks might take the punch out of the impact of the haircut (think bobs with micro bangs.)

At the max, we say 12-16 weeks to snip those ends before they start to fray! Like with so many things, it's up to your personal preference. Whether you're in twice a year or twice a week, we'll be glad to see you with no judgement🌻

Community Care can happen a lot of different ways!

Here at Transfiguration, we have required that masks be worn indoors since we re-opened from our 2020 pandemic closure, and we don’t have any good reason to change this policy. ​​​​​​​​Especially as we continue to meet new folks who seek us out because they need to be in a masked environment! 🙏

No judgement on how often you want to get your haircut! We preach being a mostly low maintenance shop, so don’t hesitate to let us know that you plan on not getting another haircut for a year. It’s time for our annual winter break! ☃️❄️🌬️

Every year from 12/24 through 1/1 we close the shop to give our staff some much deserved time to fully decompress and reset for a new year! We keep our regular hours otherwise, so up through Tuesday 12/23 and starting again on Friday 1/2 we will be here and happy to get your skin, brows, and hair looking its best for the holiday season!! ✨

In the hair studio we’ve got a few scattered haircut appointments remaining and we are fully booked for color services until the new year! In our beauty grotto Alice still has a few times left for your brows and skincare, but that is also going quickly!

If your typical haircrafter is already booked up we recommend checking out one of our other available haircrafters as they are all equally talented and fabulous! 🏆 Your other option is joining the cancellation waitlist and keeping those fingers crossed. 🤞 Text our shop phone at 215-980-9989 to secure one of our last available appointments in 2025 or to get yourself set up to start 2026 out the right way with a fresh new look!

We’re looking ahead and the holidays are right around the corner! Read on for holiday booking and shop closure intel! 👀☃️

It’s less than 8 weeks until the new year, which means that we are already starting to book appointments in January. 🤯 If you haven’t gotten your holiday services booked it’s not too late, while some of our haircrafters are nearly booked up for the rest of the year we do still have availability throughout the shop. 😮‍💨

Transfiguration will be closed on November 27th and 28th as well as the last week of the year from December 24th through January 1st for our annual Winter Break. ❄️

Otherwise, we will be here during our standard hours, as eager as elves to help get you feeling your best about your hair, skin, (brows, and lashes!!) before all of the holiday festivities and to offer some respite from the chaos of this time of year! 😌

Of course, we never expect our clients to know or understand the difference between various hair processes… that's literally our job, not yours! That’s why for every new color client we always start off with a text-based consultation!

Once you’ve sent us your hair color history, some photos of your hair currently, and inspo pics of the dream color you’d like to achieve, one of our talented color haircrafters will be able to give you a full run down of what is possible and what your service would entail. We do this before booking in order to make sure there are no surprises or unmet expectations on either end. 🤝

If you want YOUR 🫵 lashes to be doing the heavy lifting in your morning routine, then you need a Lash Lift & Tint with Alice! 💪

A Lash Lift is essentially a perm for your eyelashes, accomplished using a solution formulated to be totally safe for your eyes. This service (which is available with or without the Tint) will have your lashes lifted towards the heavens for the next 6 weeks or so. It’s a fabulous option before attending a highly photographed trip/event or for anyone who just wants to look like they’ve done their lashes every day without having to reach for an eyelash curler or mascara. 👼

Need FREE harm reduction resources? Come and get them!! 😷

We are thrilled to be a new site of SEPAS distributions! You can stop whenever we are open and help yourself to any of the items in this basket- and don’t be shy, we have plenty more supplies to keep it fully stocked. Resources include: two styles of COVID antigen rapid tests, Narcan, condoms (both outtie and innie style!), fentynal test strips, and of course, individually wrapped masks. 🥳

SEPAS, otherwise known as the South Eastern Pennsylvania Airborne Safety Bloc distributes free harm reduction supplies and stocks local spots (such as Transfiguration, and up the street!) to be easily and widely accessible to community members. You can follow to keep up with their distribution events and volunteer opportunities to get involved yourself! 🤝

We are open Monday-Friday 10-7 and Saturday 10-5, stop by and stock up anytime! 🤗 Always remember that WE keep each other safe! 🫶
