-The purpose of sebum (oil) is to support skin’s acid mantle and to help create a barrier to prevent moisture loss from the skin. The hydration level is the water-content of your skin, NOT the oil-content.Keeping your skin well hydrated not only slows down the aging process, but in oily skin it can help to reduce excess sebum by stopping the cycle of overproduction. ⏳
