Ok friends, fam, and my amazing clients this is a difficult announcement to make. Monday the governor gave the green light for salons in AZ to open early. Way earlier than expected. Since then, I have to be honest and say I’ve been reeling over what to do. For starters, with as little notice as we received, I do not have all the PPE and protective gear to open up yet. I have it all on order but as I’m sure you can imagine, I’m on a lot of lists waiting for supplies that are back ordered and won’t get here before that time anyway. Ramon Bacaui Hair Salon and MedSpa is not going to open until the 15th of May. Our salon has experienced what this virus can do first hand and members of our team got very very sick. We also lost a loved one to this virus. So the salon has decided to wait a little while. And when I do get back to the salon there will be new procedures in place. I will be working on an alternating schedule with the other stylists in order to follow and practice the social distancing guidelines in the salon, all clients and stylists will be required to wear masks, and people will be asked to wait in their cars until their appointments, please do not bring friends or children along with you during your appointment as we need to keep people in the salon to a minimum.

I have consulted with my medical doctors about my underlying heart and BP conditions. And under their recommendations I am not going to start to see clients until June 1. Allowing for ample time to see how the virus in AZ goes after opening things back up. If the numbers of cases in AZ start to ramp up again or grow exponentially I will remain home until the 1st. But if the number of cases start to drop or stay the same I will plan on getting back to work sooner than the 1st of June and will be reaching out to all of you to let you know.

I appreciate all of the messages and texts of support during this time. And I’m so grateful for each and every one of you for being understanding and concerned for my health and safety during this pandemic. You have no idea what it means to me, so I’m telling you it means everything! For those of you who have purchased gift cards, or made monetary contributions to me during the shutdown, thank you! It has helped me weather this time more than you know!

I am eager to get back to the salon and to get back to work, but I am someone who has to think about my underlying conditions and health. If I catch this virus I have a high probability of needing to be hospitalized and that won’t do any of us any good! So I will wait for all of my supplies, and follow my doctors recommendations. If you absolutely can not wait for me to get everyone scheduled for June 1, I do understand as this has been hard on ALL of us. I ask that if you can’t wait to see me for your first appointment, that you please schedule with Kaitleen Larcia (Kat) at Ramon Bacaui Salon until I am able to return. You all know Kat as my right hand gal and I have full confidence and faith she will be able to make you happy if you can not wait for me.

Again the love and loyalty you guys show me is so amazing and I can say for a fact that not a lot of other stylists out there have a clientele as amazing as my guests are. You guys are THE BEST! I look forward to seeing each and everyone one of you soon! I will be reaching out to you all to get us rescheduled and set up ASAP. Hey everyone! Just wanting to send an update as to the Covid19 mandated closure of salons in Arizona. Today Governor Ducey has extended our stay at home order to May 15 with no specific date or estimate of when salons and spas will be reopening. He is hoping sometime towards the end of May.

With that said, I have many of my clients appointments already scheduled and will need to reach out to you to reschedule them. If you don’t have an appointment with me currently we will have to wait to get you scheduled until after the mandated closure is lifted. I apologize for this inconvenience as it’s out of my control. Please be patient with me while I do my best to rearrange my schedule.

Your health and safety is tantamount to me and I value each and every one of you so much. I don’t want any of you to get sick or have possible exposure to this virus when we do reopen. So my plans are as follows. When we reopen all clients must wear a mask to their appointments. There will be no waiting in the salon for your appointment. You will have to wait in your car until I text or call when I am ready. I will be wearing gloves during all appointments which will be changed between every client. I will wear be wearing a mask and a face shield along. I will also be wearing disposable aprons that I will change between every appointment. My station, chair, and all tools will be sanitized with hospital grade viricidal disinfectant. If you are able to a cashless and no touch payment through Venmo that would be greatly appreciated. If you are coming in for just a haircut appointment if possible please come in with freshly washed and damp hair so that we may skip the shampoo bowls being crowded. There may possibly be temperature checks from the salon upon entering the building.

I will let you all know if there are any additional changes to the state mandated guidelines as they come. Again your safety and the safety of myself and the salon team is the main focus moving forward.

I miss you all terribly. It has been really rough not being able to catch up with you. So I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

To my amazing clients. Today is a sad day for me and a tough decision I needed to make for myself and for you! And it’s not one I am happy to be making.

After making the decision to work from home the last couple of weeks in order to reduce my and your exposure to any covid19 that could possibly be coming into the salon, after seeing the cases starting to spike in AZ, after seeing my salon close for a week, now having seen the stay at home order by our governor, and finally after consulting with my primary care doctor about all of my underlying health issues and realizing that I am high risk for having a severe sickness from this virus should I catch it, I have decided to no longer see clients until the stay at home order is lifted May 1st.

Most all of you know in the last couple years I’ve had some serious health issues come up for me and they are specifically listed as underlying issues that have caused people to have severe if not fatal reactions to this virus.
While I love to think of myself as essential, it is simply not worth the risk to myself. Or the risk to my clients. While I know that all of the sanitation protocols we have as stylists can guarantee that my station and chair are free from this bug, I can’t with good conscience keep myself or my clients safe from the air while in my chair. I am in your face and touching your head and face multiple times during the service. I can’t stay 6 ft away as required by the CDC. And regardless of our governors thoughts on the matter, I am not willing to risk my or your safety and health during an appointment.

I apologize for the huge inconvenience this is to both of us... I am not sure what to do financially for myself. I will be applying for unemployment and the additional money the CARES act offers to those of us self employed individuals. And I hope you will be on with having some extra rootage for the month. As I said in the video I made just a few minutes ago, if you absolutely have an essential need for getting your hair done, I ask that you see another stylist at Ramon Bacaui Hair Salon and MedSpa if they continue to stay open during this time. Much of the nation has closed down salons and spas and I believe it’s only a matter of days before Arizona does the same. But if you can wait, I will be working extra hours and days when this order is lifted to be able to make sure everyone gets their services. Please don’t grab a box to color your own hair with... I promise it is not worth it and a color correction is never a good time... it costs extra $$ and usually leaves your hair not in the best condition. Please don’t get creative and decide to cut your own hair.... if you can help it. Again, it just isn’t worth having to fix it and be unhappy.

I want you all to know how incredibly grateful I am for those who have reached out and already rescheduled and canceled their appointments. It’s so important to stay home and social distance right now. If not for you, for me, then for your family and loved ones. The more we stick to this, the sooner we can all get back to the new normal.
