Curly or straight? Up no
It makes me sad but I genuinely like the straight hair more and everyone in my life agrees with that. I have just been curly my whole life and feel like that is part of my identity. I started straightening about a year ago and only wear it curly every once in a while now.

Why do people keep saying my hair is red?

What should my fiancé say to her stylist to achieve this?

My fiancé has been to two appointments with the stylist that is doing her wedding day hair. So far the stylist has not been able to figure it out. Looking for verbiage or techniques that will allow her to explain what to do with the hair pulled back.

It looks like the two pieces pulled back run parallel to each other before they cross over and then blend into the rest of the hair.

Any advice is appreciated!!

bleaching at home
hey! i got my very fine hair done recently, i got highlights but we made it so my root would seamlessly blend, while still having the highlights somewhat high up. and a blended money piece. although i like it a lot i just think i want it a little brighter. But its just too expensive to go back right now does anyone have a tutorial or a video to link i can follow? to be able to bleach it at home and anything else i should know

Do I have a bald spot or am I just paranoid and it’s just my hair parting?
I’ve been noticing that my hair has been thinning, (or I’m assuming) and found that the back of my head has a little spot that shows a little more of my scalp than the rest and I don’t know if this is normal or not. Does anyone know or have any tips on hair care or styling? Any help would be appreciated.

Olaplex absolutely destroyed my healthy hair — please be careful

I wanted to share my experience as a warning because I wish someone had told me this before I started using Olaplex.

I had long, healthy, untouched hair, no bleach, no heat, just natural hair that I had been growing out for years. Around the time Olaplex was blowing up on TikTok (2021–2023), I went into Sephora looking for something to help with dryness. A worker recommended Olaplex, and I bought into the hype. Everyone was raving about how magical it was stronger hair, shinier strands, salon-quality results at home. Sounded perfect.

I started using it consistently the shampoo, the leave-in, the oil. I spent hundreds of dollars over time replenishing it in my shower routine. At first, it did seem amazing. My hair felt smooth, looked shiny, and felt “stronger.” But then, slowly, things started to change.

My hair began breaking off, literally down to the scalp. It wasn’t falling out at the root it was snapping mid-shaft and near the roots. I had no clue why. It was horrifying. My once full, thick hair was suddenly fragile and thin. I finally saw my hairdresser in a panic and her reaction? “You’re not the first one this has happened to. It was Olaplex.”

She told me Olaplex shouldn’t be used on healthy, untreated hair. It’s heavily misunderstood and overused. According to her, it’s meant for damaged or color-treated hair, and when used on already healthy hair, it can over-proteinize the strands, making them brittle and leading to severe breakage. And she believes their marketing is completely misleading pushing it as a one-size-fits-all miracle product.

I’m devastated. I have to start all over. My hair is now severely damaged, shorter, thinner, and weaker. I trusted the product and the hype and wish I had done more research or been warned.

If your hair is healthy and untreated please think twice before using Olaplex. What works for someone with bleached or chemically processed hair might seriously harm yours. Just because it’s everywhere on social media doesn’t mean it’s right for you.

I’m sharing this because I don’t want anyone else to go through what I did. 💔

STRAIGHT OR CURLY 😭

Please, i need help. Which one looks better on me? i chose the worst pictures without any posing or lighting to be able to determine which one makes me more attractive… my natural hair is curly but i was straightening them for 15 years… Now i kinda wish i looked better with curly hair so i can stop going through that routine of hair straightening that takes about an hour 🥲 I need honest opinions. Also, my under eye tear troughs look worse because of the stupid concealer…😂

should i do anything with my hair?
i've had long natural hair all my life, and i've been to a hair salon only once in my life to get bangs, which was not even an year ago. i also never cut it before that visit. (the photo is me right after i got bangs)

i always thought that my long natural hair was the only thing special about me in my appearence. that's why i'm scared of doing anything with my hair, be it cutting or dying.

i still want to do something with my hair, but i don't know what i exactly want or if it will look good on me. if i don't like how my hair ends up looking, i'm afraid that it will either take forever to grow out or i will never have the same long hair back.

i've been wanting to bleach my hair in some way, maybe bleach my bangs but i'm afraid it will look horrible. bright colors also don't work on my hair without bleaching, and i definitely don't want to have black hair. but i really can't decide.

people around me tell that my long hair is pretty and that 'don't you dare cut it' but i want to experiment. plus, taking care of hair this long is a hassle but i'm somewhat used to it.

maybe anyone got an idea what will look good? or any inspiration for me?

Well thank you to the ocean for somehow styling my hair better then I ever could. This is after I swam and it airdried! Pains me to brush through before I shower, it's such wavy hair goals.

Current haircut is a 1yr grown out layered bob with curtain bangs. What would fit best for my face shape and hair? I’m open to mild-moderate effort hairstyles.
