Want fun color without giving up your natural look? đđĽ
My client loves copper tones, so we decided to have a little fun with this one! By keeping most of the vibrant copper underneath in a peekaboo placement, she can wear it bold and bright when she wants to show it off, or let the more natural tones on top soften the overall look.
And the best part? As this copper fades, it will become softer and more natural-looking, so she gets to enjoy several different versions of the color along the way.
This is such a great way to experiment with fashion shades without feeling like your entire head has to be bright or dramatic. We can make a look like this as bold or as subtle as youâre comfortable with.
And honestly⌠could there be a better color for fall? đđ§Ą
Would you wear your peekaboo color this bright, or would you go a little more subtle?
Going darker for fall doesnât mean saying goodbye to your blonde. đ¤â¨
We took her from an all-over blonde with a darker grow-out to a richer, more dimensional look â adding depth back into the hair while keeping those brighter pops around the face.
The result? A softer grow-out, more contrast, and blonde that actually looks brighter because it has something to play against.
Sometimes the best blonde transformation isnât adding MORE blonde⌠itâs knowing where to add the depth. đ¤
If youâre ready for a change but youâre not quite ready to give up your blonde, this is the perfect way to transition into fall.
⨠Not every Hair Color Transformation requires permanent color or bleach.
Sometimes all your hair needs is a demi-permanent gloss or glaze.
A demi-permanent color has a much lower pH than permanent color, which helps leave the hair looking smoother, shinier, and feeling healthier while adding beautiful richness and dimension.
Itâs also one of my favorite ways to soften and blend a grown-out root without creating a harsh line of demarcation or adding a lot of maintenance.
Have you ever felt like your blonde has become too blonde or washed out? A custom gloss can bring life back into your hair by adding depth, shine, and dimensionâwithout making it dark.
For this client, I actually custom-formulated three different demi-permanent shades to create natural-looking dimension and seamlessly blend everything together. Hair color isnât just about putting one color all over the hairâitâs about customizing each formula to create the most flattering result.
⨠The end result? Softer roots, richer dimension, incredible shine, and beautiful, low-maintenance color.
Would you try a custom gloss instead of a full color appointment?
I may be known for my reds and coppers, but creating beautiful blondes is something I love just as much. â¨
While reds may be my specialty, great hair color is about so much more than one shade. Itâs about understanding formulation, underlying pigments, hair integrity, and creating a customized plan for every guest who sits in my chair.
Whether Iâm creating a vibrant copper, covering gray, correcting unwanted tones, or transforming someone into a beautiful blonde, the goal is always the sameâhealthy hair and gorgeous, personalized color.
If youâre looking for a blonde specialist, you can also trust the expertise of a colorist who understands color formulation from the inside out. đ
â¤ď¸ ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS I FIND WHEN WORKING WITH RED HAIR⌠â¤ď¸
âŚisnât covering the gray.
Itâs creating a seamless blend from fresh root color to faded mids and ends while maintaining the richness and vibrancy that makes red hair so beautiful.
Many of my red-haired clients come in with two completely different challenges happening at the same appointment:
⨠Gray regrowth at the roots
⨠Faded copper or red through the mids and ends
What many people donât realize is that these areas often require completely different color strategies.
The amount of gray, the texture of the hair, the level of coverage needed, and the overall goal all influence how I formulate for the root area. Often that means different tones, different developers, and a completely different formula than what is being used through the mids and ends.
At the same time, the ends have their own challenges.
Years of sun exposure, heat styling, washing, and natural porosity can cause copper and red tones to fade faster than almost any other hair color. Those ends often need a customized refresh designed to restore vibrancy and reflection without becoming darker, muddy, or overprocessed.
This is why color formulation matters so much.
Anyone can apply color, but knowing how to formulate for gray coverage, preserve the integrity of the hair, maintain brightness, and create a seamless blend from roots to ends is where experience and color theory come into play.
â¤ď¸ Itâs also one of the reasons I love specializing in reds and coppers.
Every client presents a unique canvas, and creating that perfect balance between coverage, vibrancy, shine, and longevity is both the challenge and the artistry behind beautiful red hair.
⨠Beautiful red hair isnât just about the formula.
Itâs about choosing the right formula for every section of the hair.
DO YOUR REDS FADE? â¤ď¸đĽ
Want to know how to add Pop?
One of the biggest misconceptions about red hair is that when it fades, you just âredo the same color.â
But red tones donât simply fade lighter⌠they lose reflection, richness, warmth, and dimension. That vibrant copper, auburn, or cherry tone can start looking flat, muddy, or dull because the underlying tonal balance has shifted.
Sometimes reviving red hair isnât about going darker at all â itâs about understanding color theory well enough to strategically shift the tone back into balance so the vibrancy and light reflection return again â¨
This is why dimensional reds require maintenance differently than blondes or brunettes. Knowing when to gloss, when to refresh with permanent color, and how to layer warmth and depth is what keeps reds looking expensive, radiant, and multi-dimensional instead of faded out.
If your red no longer has that âpopâ it once did, it may not need a complete color correction â it may just need the right tonal refresh â¤ď¸
WANT TO HEAR THE TRUTH?
Most reds fade fast because the canvas isnât properly prepared â not because âred doesnât last.â
For my guests, longevity is created through:
⨠Formulating for your natural level
⨠Protecting the integrity of the hair first
⨠Choosing the right tone family for your lifestyle
⨠Custom gloss refreshes instead of full color every visit
Healthy hair holds pigment.
And when the formulation is intentional, your red doesnât fade â it evolves beautifully.
This is how we create:
â dimensional, light-reflective reds
â soft grow-out
â low-maintenance luxury color
Red, designed for real life â not for a 4-week salon schedule.
If youâve been scared of red because of fading or upkeep, we just havenât designed your red yet. â¤ď¸
